I don't trick or treat because I'm not an American.
Main difference?
Guising = originally to scare evil from your neighbour's door, and followed by a party piece.
Trick-or-treat = demanding goods with menaces |

Thanks for history lesson. I only used the phrase as a forum title however, because some younger members mightn't have known what guising is, and didn't mention it in my thread.
Anyway back to the topic, who's off out on Wednesday, as what, and what's your party piece? |
