Showing my age. Back in the mid late 80s used to do occasional bar work in the gellons great pub in them days.
One of the sights I will never forget happened in the Muirton motel. A local traffic warden with long black hair was openly being shagged on the pool table with everyone looking on. That one always make me smile. |

Was up there for about 2-3 years. Think it was about 97 I may have left so a wee bit out of your 15 years lol but still some good memories. Don’t think Barbazza had long opened at that time - seems like foxes has been around for years lol |

I've heard that one too, only she was blonde.
Inverness pubs are pretty blinking generic nowadays, in my opinion.
Gellions is all right, but its like drinking in a corridor! And you couldn't get me in Foxes unless you paid me!
My favourite used to be the Moray, which is now gone and been replaced by a shitey fecking wine bar. |

Quite a few coming to mind now.
The Hayloft on Millburn Road
The Railway Club - no longer there - used to have some good live music
The Eagle - now called the Tooth & Claw
Dillingers - as previously mentioned - loved it in there lol
Downtown USA - was inside the Ice Rink building at Bught Park
The Criterion - now occupied by the cesspit which is Lauders
Barbazza's - now Encore Un Fois or something like that
Finlay's/Ceol Mor on Tomnahurich Street - closed
Mr G's/Love2Love - also gone - remember being there on its opening night many many moons ago |

I fingered a lassie on the dance floor in barbazas, she was soo wet that my cream trousers had a massive wet patch as she wore a dress with a slit down her leg, I moved her knickers over, and everyone was watch me. Was good back in the day. |

Limerick Smith upstairs in the Market Bar was hands down the best gig I've ever been to.
Ash touring their '1977' album was my first ever gig in Blue (between the bus station and Safeway).
Becks and Mr G's we're great nights out always followed up with a Max's burger |

I went to Dillingers years ago.
It was a Sunday night and I'd heard that Inverness had draconian licensing laws.
Before we entered, I asked the bouncer what time they were closing.
He said, "two A.M."
Nothing to worry about we thought, however at 2200, the shutters were pulled down at the bar! |

Have performed in every single one of them over the years but my favourites were when hosting the comedy shows at The Market bar on a sunday, hootenannies on a friday and the portland club on a saturday. Sadly though, the only one anyone ever remembers me for is when I wore that black wig and bent over the pool table |

Only been to Inverness once. Think it was 2010 as was when the World Cup was on and the England keeper threw one into his own net against USA.
Anyway. Was there for Rockness on the Saturday. On the Friday went out for drinks and some food. Was in a bar when a bell rang and everyone left, had no idea what was going on. So stayed 5 minutes to finish our drinks before walking to a club. Must have been 5 past midnight and the bouncers, who were apologetic tbf, said we couldn’t get in as the cut off was 12. Nowhere was open so had to head back to the hotel.
We left Rockness on the earliest bus back on the Saturday. Got back to the same club with the same bouncers having missed cutoff again by just 10 minutes despite not being able to get there any earlier. Bizarre rule! |
