Hi there, I have organised social nights before, was in the very early stages of organising one for the summer, most likely doing something like a pub crawl, would be happy to team up organising a social together though if you guys would like? |

It’s a maybe for me on 7th as I’m away on holiday a few days after and need to be on my A game if it was an late afternoon early evening start then it’s a defo yes cause I can drive through and back |

Definitely a good idea to finalise date and if you can go and, if not, maybe next time. 7th May seems to be favourite.
As for venue? I organised a few Edinburgh socials a few years ago and thought a bar as opposed to restaurant since it’s easier to organise and mingle. Just my opinion. Suss out the numbers by a certain date I would suggest and pick an appropriate sized venue from that information.
Take into account a fairly large no show. Never quite understood why. Another reason not to book a restaurant.

I'm hoping to attend my first social (apart from CJs). How would a single male book a slot as single men are blocked from MrMrsEast profile once the venue is confirmed?  Great work by the OP for getting this arranged. |

Either of those dates are good at the moment. For what it’s worth I agree, don’t worry about booking. Perhaps select a pub & arrange to meet. Let others order & pay for their food if they want too eat. Less hassle for you guys. Please message me privately if you do decide on a venue & time  |

Very Interested, let us know the final date, time etc and we will try and attend. We can probably accommodate if folk need somewhere to crash, no pressure or strings, just a genuine offer... as long as you play pool, ping pong or at very least Mario kart. ?? Can't have us being seen as dull hosts. Also open to idea of being an after event venue if all goes well. |

Why does it need to be a private venue? That’s putting you out of pocket, and although you may have a lot of numbers - probably half will not turn up, as sometimes life gets in the way. Best to book a couple of tables in a nice pub and we can all choose want we want to eat if eating out. Don’t go all out and pay for a reception hall as you’ll no get the numbers |

I am currently looking at organising a social for in either June or July that will be a pub crawl, those that show interest will be verified, obviously discreet as with things like this there is the chance that you could bump into someone you know, and I will start a group chat where those going can work out a way to recognise/ ensure each other are the fabbers.
I’ve done pub crawls before and they have worked out very well, I’ve had a couple of messages at the end of the night saying the old “I turned up and couldn’t find anyone!” But that’s very rare and usually after looking into it I think the person got too nervous to come and decided to say that instead |

Blackness is lovely however I don’t recall there being more than one pub there, unless we’ll be there all night then crawling to the castle or beach for a stumble
Might be worth doing your own thread nearer the time than hijacking someone else’s |

Especially considering private venues often will cancel a booking if they find out that it’s a swingers social., so was only trying to help and advise.
But I suppose your reply is proof that someone can’t do right for doing wrong in other peoples eye eh? |

I agree with the poster who said you're hijacking the OP,s thread, this is about a couple organising a social in Edinburgh not a pub crawl, your own thread would get more success I'd suggest. |

My social was a pub crawl, I have done a few before and was sharing advise while mentioning I’m doing another, it’s a way to get folk out for a social, get around having to pay for a private venue, and as you are going between venues already, if a venue says no (which has happened a lot with private venues when they find out it’s a swingers night) then it’s not an issue you just move to the next pub |

Don’t think a pub crawl is the answer for this with the amount of interest.
I expected a few couples to come forward but the numbers are high, it’s taking a bit time but I think we will get something in the next few days, if we can’t then we can put it up for suggestion.
Personally speaking, a private event would be better so that people can chat openly & get to know each other. |

Can I politely suggest you think of starting a “social” profile for this as your non-single male account rules out a large part of Fabs. And that’s not just from the single male perspective as many single females and couples are looking for single guys even if you are not.
Appreciate personal preferences, but you are talking about a social that should be inclusive. |

The reason we are trying to make it a private event is to include everyone, single males, females & couples all have their place, however there may need to be a limit on single males because there has been a lot expressed interest. |

Not at all, I’m not saying that anything is being done wrong or right. But you have already offered the OP to help them organise something possibly more in favour of your idea (pub crawl) which is all good if that’s what others want to do.
I’m aware that your previous social/pub crawl wasn’t in Blackness that’s fairly obvious  that reference was sarcasm  |

Really sorry folks, just been informed that there was a mistake with the date, it should be Saturday 28th May.
