No not the option on Fab but as a couple.
We're finding we get a better sleep if on occasion we utilise the spare room double bed and sleep alone , no hot sticky bodies , tossing and turning disturbing each other , waking each other up because of shift patterns, perhaps 2 or 3 times a week now we go our separate ways , any other couples do this or the singletons out there, do you guys gals struggle sleeping with a bed guest and prefer your own space. Thoughts. ? |

My husband is nightshift four nights of the week, and I have to say, I really enjoy having the bed to myself. It took a long time to get used to him not being there, but now that I am, I love sprawling out!!!xx |

After 18 years, I can’t imagine sleeping in a bed without K. It’s a comfort thing. I suffer from insomnia so if I wake up during the night and can’t get back to sleep, I’ll just lie there and hold his hand until I’m relaxed enough to nod off.
Soppy and sad, I know |

Not soppy or sad at all, I think that's lovely. I wish I had someone's hand to hold in bed x |

I’d imagine most people would think couples that sleep in separate beds/ rooms would have marital issues but I’m sure it’s really common with shift workers.
That being said, there will always be a huge loss of intimacy. Just need to make sure effort is made in other areas of the relationship to ensure that things remain as strong as possible.

I sleep separately from my partner for multiple reasons. No loss of intimacy here. |

Same here, I can see how it may be perceived that way but the dynamics of a very long term relationship change all the time. That's why it lasts so long having the ability to adapt. |

Yeah, that makes sense. But, every good, strong relationship will fluctuate. We have young kids, so our sex life isn't what it was. We do make sure we have plenty of family time, but it doesn't give us a lot of personal time. We make do, the best we can though, and we know that it's shortlived. Our kids are only young once, so we enjoy the time with them as much as we can, our time will come around again. It's one of the reasons we're on here, it gives us the chance to explore, have fun and excitement, and do it together, as well as apart xx |
