A-ha, Duran Duran, the Cure and the occasional one day flies like Bros and Mel & Kim. Loads more I can't come up with now because it's going back an awful long time now
Lots of vinyl, but every year in the run up to Hogmanay I'd sit next to the tape recorder to record the best songs from the top 1000 on cassettes. Always getting annoyed at the DJs for yapping too much through the songs x |

I know you forget them all then hear them again like I have tonight and you still remember the words (or the words I made up at the time!) |

I was born in 88 but I have a love of old music! The classic power ballads are all incredible. U2 are also a stand out band, specifically the Joshua Tree |

I went to see James before Christmas although they may be more 90’s than 80’s |

I was a big record buyer - DJ and worked in a record shop, But I was young in the 80s and didn't have much money to buy records at that time, tough o managed about 2 a week!!!. I got a record player from santa on my 4th christmas - Alvin Stardust - I won't run away, Toy dolls - Nelly the elephant, Band aid, Shaking Stevens - Teardrops. Those were all in the initial pack, along with Black Lace's number one album - Party Party!!! Best Christmas ever!!!!!!! |

Haha the Nellie the Eli-fant is my favourite cheer up song!!! Sounds of the eighties for me are The Eurythmics, INXS and Frankie Goes To Hollywood… couldn’t stand Duran Duran though! |

John Peel's Festive Fifty was recorded religiously every year and I made a point of buying albums from the top ten, whether I liked them or not. Fostered my undying love of Sonic Youth, Delgado's, Pixies, Nick Drake, Screaming Trees... |

Same no Duran Duran for me. I was a wham fan. Big Geordie Michael was the man.
I always seemed to fancy the gay ones in the boy bands. Disclaimer* I'm not a fan of boy band music.
