Bar Roma in Edinburgh's west end, great Italian food at very reasonable prices, great wine too, hic. Lol
Another good Italian is one very close to where I live in Livingston called Toni Macaroni's, never had a bad meal there yet and some of the waiters are very hot. |

Not Michelin star by any stretch, but I love DiMaggio's in Glasgow. Good food, good value, always come out of there stuffed and happy. Can't think of a bad experience there.
If you're determined to go for fancy food then The Kitchin, down Leith way, is pretty good and I think has a star. |

if you want to try Michelin Starred places get down the shore in Leith there are 3 within a couple of hundred yards, The Kitchin, Martin Wisharts and the Plumed Horse, have been in them all and the Kitchin was my favourite
You also have Malmaison, Skippers and a room in Leith down there
plenty of great places to eat and drink or maybe i am just biased haha |

You live in Fife why not try somewhere near your door step.
The Peat Inn had a michelin star not sure if it still does. Top top notch food outstanding service and you may just see royalty eating at the table next to you.
It is called Peat INN and is in Peat Inn near Cupar. |

Any Fifers should try Ostlers Close in Cupar. Best food I've ever had.
I'd hope so too at the price I paid
Agacan in Dundee is my fav though. It's hard to get good lamb these days and these guys know what they're doing.
Both highly recommended |

We would recommend 2 Fat Ladies -Shandon Belles in Glasgow. Eaten there often, food fantastic, selection good and varied. And pretty reasonable. Two courses and half bottle wine for £17.00 or there abouts.
Would say Shandon Belles was better than its sister Restaurant upstairs, 2 Fat Ladies @ The Buttery which is also first class but a bit more formal n posher lol! !!! |

The Peat Inn, Peat Inn.
The seafood restaurant, St. Monance.
The Cellar restaurant, Anstruther.
Sangsters, Elie.
Inn at Lathones, Lathones.
The Vine Leaf, St. Andrews.
....all these are local to me in Fife and I've eaten in them, all are local produce.
I can also recommend some in Edinburgh if you wish.

"Need to plan ahead, the Riverside is bigger and owned by the same people "
The Dolls House, The Steak House and The Glass House in St. Andy's are all owned by the same people.
My son's flatmates work in The Kitchin in Edinburgh, it's just been named as the best restaurant in Scotland, my son worked in 2-1-2-1-2, they're a bit pricey for me though ... so I let the boys home cook for me |

You should try The Dreel Pub in Anstruther.
Good fresh local produce cooked perfectly by the owner/chef, very reasonably priced and different cask ales on each week to match the menu's.
(the place must be good as all the chefs I know eat there) |
