I signed up a few weeks ago for a pre CJs social group. Put my username and a black and white heel picture on there, since I'm not too keen on everyone on there knowing my real name and seeing my mug straight away.
When registering it asked permission to get my contacts and i declined, because i was only going to use it for fab related adventures.
Few days later i get a message from my boss at work, giving me a heads up all my contacts can see me (my heels pic and username linked to my actual phone number) if they have telegram. Uninstalled it straight away.
Used wire for a while. That one, like kik, doesn't want your phone number and won't send all your phone contracts a message that you're on there.
Telegram looks good though, just be mindful with the settings and stop your contacts finding you x

user name is what ever you want no phone numbers you can create side channels as well as group message

I joined up, but I just used my initials and a generic picture.
Within 5 mins a former work colleague had messaged me.
Tip - if you are not sure where and who can see your profile/number - dont go all fab on the name
Hugeboner69 or Hornyshagger4u will not endere you to your vanilla contacts

Same as baby Yoda, been using it for years for crypto.
You can use services online to get a burner phone number, add an account to telegram using that burner number and then forget about the number. None of your contacts will be able to find you.
If your on Samsung you can even have more than one version of telegram, Kik and WhatsApp. You can do the same as above with WhatsApp and effectively have two versions, one for normal stuff and one for fab contacts. |
