As far as I am aware the sexual health clinic in Sandyford is now open for asymptomatic testing (first time in two years) but there are zero appointments available. Are there any other alternatives that you know of in public healthcare? |

'Sandyford' is basically IS GGCs sexual health services and frankly is much better than what the other health boards locally have to offer.
Check out the Terrence Higgins Trust for alternative options but likely to be suspended if Sandyford has been. |

They too seem to be closed:
This weekly clinic is suspended until further notice owing to the temporary unavailability of premises.
I just don't understand, on the one hand they open nightclubs and on the other Sandyford cites covid risks to refuse basic public healthcare services. This has been going on for 2 years, it wouldn't surprise me if we were to find a surge in STI infections. |

yea, I work for NHS and honestly think the suspension of services is embarrassing. However if you knew all the services that were still suspended, asymptomatic sexual health screens is the least of your worries.

Get tests direct to your house through the NHS for free. It isn't available where I am but you might be able to get it."
Thanks a lot, unfortunately not available for me either |

"Call 0141 221 8130 and a nurse calls you back to arrange an appointment if they think you need one "
From what I understand this is only the case if you tell them you've been in contact with someone with a STI, which is not my case. I think routine checkups still have their value. |

Ah damn, things should be back to normal pretty soon I imagine.
Lloyds Pharmacy charge £45 online for a full test if you're really desperate, results back pretty fast too. Can get HIV/Aids tests free and delivered. |

This has been causing me stress too.
For years I’ve had 3 monthly tests. It was required as part of taking preP.
Now. I can’t get a test.
I even went into the Sandyford. I thought face to face I might be able to get one. But despite me saying I feeling very anxious about not being tested - there’s nothing they can do.
Online booking or nothing. Unless you have symptoms.
Time to look at Lloyd’s pharmacy options. Or others.
Just one of the many cutbacks made to cope with the virus. Frustrating.
If anyone is interested in what testing options I find - message me.

Lloyds are very good and discreet and the cheapest as far as I can tell. |

Your gp can take urine samples and blood tests are available at several locations around Glasgow, I was at the health centre in Partick a month ago for blood tests. Your gp can give you the number. |
