CHRISTMAS EXTRAVIGANSA FUND RAISING !!!
Jump to: Newest in thread
Hi guys ,
Dunno if many of u will remember but few months back sting and i decided to have the christmas social as a freebe for everyone ? and decided to do fund raising on the nite
sting wanted half the money raised to go to mcmillan cancer care and i wanted mine to go to heart chest and stroke foundation ......
for most of u who know me my mum took a massive stroke 21 weeks ago and has spent most of that time in The Mansion House stroke unit in glasgow ....
Since being admitted there i have never seen such a team so dedicated and caring in what they do to help the ppl they r caring for and i have decided that id like half the fund raising money to go to the unit instead of charity i first deceided on
i hope everyone is ok with this? .....
luv jacs
xxxxx
ps~ thanks to all my friends for support and to all the lovely ppl who constantly ask how my mum is doing
she is doing really well and we hope to have her back home with my dad in the next few weeks xxxx |

Seems good to me Jacs, one half goes to a charity that is a national one which benefits many people in all areas, and the other half goes to a smaller more 'personal' local one that you can continue to raise funds for and watch the changes our donations bring about. xxxxx |

The fact you are doing all (half) the hard work towards the night. The choice of where you want half the donation to go should be yours and what a very worthy cause you have chosen. Hope your mum goes from strength to strength and is soon united with yer dad at home.

jac so sorry to hear about mum n u deserve to have the money go to a charity close to your heart seen as u are doin all the hard work all charities are worthy of donation
i myself when i ran a social got the last person who won a prize in raffle to draw another ticket and the "winner" of this ticket chose the charity

Sounds like a great idea!
My mum died with lung cancer 3 years ago last week, so i know how horrible a disease it can be! I'd be happy to come along to the event and help fundraising...when and where would it be?
Glad to hear your mums doing well!

Thats a lovely idea Jacs, nothing like helping a charity close to your heart.
Have we any ideas for fundraising on the night or is that being kept quiet?

i think thats actually a more purposeful (is that even a word?) choice jacs. that way youl defo know that they get all the contributions and more importantly itl go right into the unit and not fall through the money grabbers.
awesome idea and im really sorry to read about your mum xxxx |

whatever charity the money goes to it wont be a bad decision, I have personal experience of Macmillan as they have help my mum go thru cancer twice and they were brilliant in my case... couldn't ask for nicer people to go thru what we did...
