Discreet or Discrete

Like me, a lot of fabbers struggle with the correct spelling of this word.

One way to recall the difference between discrete and discreet is to use this mnemonic:

Discrete is about separating into distinct parts: notice how the two e’s are separated. Discreet, on the other hand, is about keeping information contained and under wraps: notice how the e’s are closed up within the boundaries of the word. Keeping this in mind may help you remember which of these words is which.

"i cannot believe i am getting pelters for helping out our lovely community!"

Try and be a bit more discreet about it in future.

Some things are important to us all for different reasons, in my life its the health of my family, the worry of current events, soldiers and police officers dying, world debt, the stress of providing care to the patients in my care, developing the skills of junior staff and helping a colleague and friend through cancer.

If others use of the a word in the wrong context is important to others so be it, its not to me, its just a couple of words, we all understand the context in which they are being used.

Just my tuppence worth

I put my hands up..I dont give a fuck

and I dont full stop, comma..blahhblahh,allthe time. Its not always a case of the pen is mightier than the sword as sometimes those wielding that pen have fuck all between the ears when u meet them..even some text speakers(typers) are actually better at communicating in person than those with the grammatical prowess often displayed from behind their keyboards.
