We exchanged a few messages with someone, then exchanged face photos. Jess liked what she saw, so we arranged a social meet in a pub.
The guy arrived at the bar, came over to say hello and then went up to get himself a drink. We immediately turned to each other and said that's not him! By the time he came back to the table we both had his profile on our phones and asked him about the photo. He admitted that it wasn't him, but we now had the opportunity to get to know the real person!
He could see no wrong in what he'd done. He claimed that the person in the photo was a friend who knew that he was using his photo on fab and that therefore that made it alright.
He got a month full from both of us about honesty and people like him ruining fab. He left still insisting that he'd done nothing wrong.
Why are the liars on this site allowed to get off with it! |

That was the most disappointing thing about it, he had been found out but refused to accept that it was wrong. |

Why would anyone even think about meeting up with someone after using a fake photo on profile or sending them one.. you would think they would tell you before meeting .. |

Jeez! He's probably hoping that you'll just think "well we're all here now with a drink, let's get to know the liar, he might tell us something true in person".

I think fab or indeed any online platform has issues like this. I know everyone can be slightly guilty of filtering pics or using a good angle but to fully use a fake picture and expect not to be pulled up for it, is creepy. |

I find the heavily edited/filtered photos worse than fake ones.
One in particular keeps coming up on my local feed, and you can see how obvious it is that the photos have some form of filter on them.

I think this was his take on it, using a fake photo to get a foot in the door sort of thing.
I do wonder if this has worked for him in the past? |

Funnily enough we asked if he was actually six feet also! He said he was but that was debatable.
We have men lying about their age and height before but the fake face photo was a first. |

This is totally outrageous behaviour, I’m actually shocked anyone would do that. How would they possibly think it would be okay!?!?
Did they not realise that even by the foot in the door logic, which is creepy as it is, misrepresenting yourself like that isn’t going to help the person you’re meeting think you’re a good/sane/respectful person. Surely you can be removed from the site for that? |

We both work for the nhs, working shifts including nights and weekends, and therefore don't often get opportunities to meet.
There was the usual nervous and exciting build up to the meet, only to be abruptly let down.
But you are correct, we were too confrontational, instead we should have apologized for the misunderstanding and taken him back to our hotel and shagged him regardless! |

By angle are you talking about the thin 45 degree angle to make face look thinner lol guilty of that but yet to find anyone on here that likes the bigger guy broad shouldered 6ft3 n cuddly not to overweight but got a bit a beer belly n love handles just a big teddy bear really lol |

A while back I swapped face pic pictures with a woman I was interested in meeting and I asked for a smiling face pic she refused. I asked a few times but left it and eventually she said she had terrible teeth from smoking. Her profile said she was a non smoker as well. There is a lot of trust as far as meets go but there are many ways you can get assurances. Asking them to send a camera pic on kik is also good. |

Sorry, but I think if you pretend to be someone else you automatically give up your right not to be confronted on anything the victim of your deception damn well pleases. That's an astonishing point of view and I've seen some crackers on here. |

I’ve seen guys using pictures from porn sites and from other guys profiles. A guy messaged me last week and sent a face pic, and he had messaged me a few days before, with the same face pic, but from a different profile with different age, height and build. When I asked him about it, he said his friend set up the other profile as a joke!
I think they get away with it because we aren’t allowed to name and shame, but I understand why, as idiots would just misuse that too.
Just a shame that we can’t all be adults and genuine. |

Because folk can't handle rejection. You're a bigger person than me. If someone looked like an entirely different person then that's a massive deception. What else are they lying about? |

I’ve had someone come over and it wasn’t until after I realised the photo they had sent was fake. I’ll be honest, I didn’t notice at the time, it was very much a fuck and go but it was afterwards when I looked at their profile and messages again I clocked it. He turned out to be a total creep and not even for anything to do with the pics lol. Needless to say he got blocked and he gets blocked on the new profiles he makes every so often. |

Because they only sent exchanged one face pic once we agreed to meet. I didn’t look at the pic again before meeting him a few days later at my home. They didn’t look that drastically different, it was just odd. |
