with recent press coverage of prince harry , nude, in a PRIVATE hotel room, you would have thought the press couldnt get much lower, wrong- spying on the duchess of cambridge, going topless on holiday, and using a telescopic lense to do it, just shows how low those scumbags get- nothing surprises me about the press, british or foreign, there all the same

to be fair to the British press (bar the Sun) not one of them have taken up the pics of Kate. Only the Sun thought it in the best interest of the public to publish those of Harry. As much as I like him, as you say, he was in a private hotel room and those pictures should NEVER have seen the light of day.

In their position if you don't want photo'd topless don't go topless, yes their privacy has been breached yes they should be entitled to privacy but surely William and Harry of all people should realise what lengths these people will go to to get a photo after what happened to their mother, as _iew said if there wasn't a market for this shit they wouldn't be taken but sadly that's the society we live in and you tell me that if there was a photo of the princess topless and readily available to _iew the majority of people wouldn't look then I would be amazed. |

I for one, don't think the french press are any better than the brits, the brits are bloody arrogant to play the high moral ground, they are not publishing the photos because they would be sued in the high court here, what the duke and duchess of cambridge get up to, on holiday is no interest or concern of mine- and I do not ever want to read about them or look at pics, of a private nature- those that do, need to get a life! |

to those who have had as much to say about my posting, the point was missed totally!! i dont care what the royals do or don't do- however the press are the scum of the earth,and the french journos,prove they have no soul, by sticking the knife into our royal family yet again. I dont actually care what they do- however i object to scumbag journos, profiting from others interest in the royal family. the press hounded princess diana, and look how that panned out |

To be honest Tomma this sounds like a bit of double standards to me ...... was only a short while ago you gave a full page inter_iew to a Sunday rag to further your agenda against a national institution, don't see how you can use the press to your full advantage in one instance then slaughter them the next ..... As to my posting- im expressing my opinions, like everyonelse on here- i am entitled to them, and as for using the press in an article i allowed myself to be in, that was to show a failed system up, and the sunday mail was happy to do it- i still think all press are the lowest of the low, |

Celebs have unauthorised photos of themselves published on a daily basis, the press could take photos of anyone of us going about out daily business and not a thing we can do about it if, according to them, it's in the public interest and like it or not everything the royals do is in the public interest or should I say of interest to the public whether in private or going about their public duties, no matter what we feel is right or wrong about this there were magazines and rags queuing up to buy these photo's as that is what their readers want to see and read about and so long as that demand is there they will seek out to take such photos and print such stories |

There personal protection officers should shoulder some of the blame. The possibility of this happening should have been realised when the property was checked out. It's basic security. It could have been a rifle and not a lens. |

Im quite sure the photogropher who got the snap in the first place is well rubbing his hands now at the massive scoop he has, thats the business journalists are in if its in the publics intrest or not as has been proved by this post and many others like it its got people talking and buying the papers/mags just to see whats going on so at the end of the day its the public who keeps it all going not the press . |

Ultimately, who cares. With news and social media being available 24 hrs now, any story only has a shelf life of a couple of days at most. My _iew is that by taking all these papers to court, the royal family are actually prolonging the story.
The only reason the newspapers in this country aren't printing the pics has nothing to do with being sued, after all, since when has THAT ever stopped them in the past? The reason is that if the Royal Family take a dislike to any reporter or newspaper, they have the power to ban them from accompanying the royals on overseas visits and any other firsthand coverage of anything to do with the royals and THAT will hurt the papers more than £500k for infringing their rights.
Newspapers care about copies sold. Period. They give a crap about nothing else. Why else would the Sun have printed pics of Harry in Vegas and claimed it was in the 'public interest' and 'the pics were widely available on the internet'? To sell more papers of course.
On another point, yes, they should be entitle to privacy like anyone else however, they are part of the royal family and as such, should be aware that there may be a lens or two pointed at them at any given time so they do need to be careful of they actions. Sad, but thats the life they have.
Anyway, Kate looks like she has cracking wee tits and I'd love to see 'em!

Did anyone else hear that the Taliban got into camp Bastion fired rockets and mortars killed 2 marines and also killed another 3 British troops in separate incidents in the last few days and the main news is that there are pics of some girl that none of us know tits in some paper, no doubt the front pages tomorrow will be about the Xfactor I wonder why I no longer buy a newspaper? hmm |

my pal is an ex-marine, whose pal was killed by an I.E.D., last year, so yeah- I would think these reccent deaths in afghanistan pushes that story of the royal pics, being taken away from the spotlight- thats whole lot less important, unless your a french journalist-  |

The British press and not just the French dont give these incidents the coverage they deserve its always a little bit somewhere inside the paper and when I look at the front page of the star?sun on a Monday morning and its all about who was kicked off the xfactor I wonder what the fuck this world is about.
The real decline with the British press in my opinion started with the Sun and its comic ways but for some reason I dont know people flocked to buy it so other papers followed that lead.
And if you are trying to say the British press are more moralistic than the French you realy do have to wake up. |

Personally when it comes to 'news' im ignorant I hear about the worlds disasters and scandals through Fbookers I don't watch tv and never read a newspaper if there are topics which interest me I search for them online if the kids ask me about things I search for them online, my kids may be young but I've taught them that not everything in black in white is necessarily the whole truth that often there is more than one side to any story and that the media quite often are bias and sensationalise a story. The media is a powerful tool but it is also a means to 'brainwashing' |
