I was chatting with a guy on here and we swapped pics. We then decided to meet and he asked for my post code which I gave and told him to message me when he arrived to get my door number. 30 mins later I get his message. But instead of giving my door number I asked him to turn on his who near to verify he had travelled. Needless to say I never heard back from him lol |

Maybe he thought you said turn on who is near and he started talking dirty to the wee old dear on her way back home from getting bread at Asda. Shel have no heard the kinda filth he might have been spouting since the mid 70s and would of snapped him up for hersel! |

Another hack is, if you are the one that is going to someone’s house ask them to put a coffee mug on their front door step. That means you have no fears that you have been given a false address. |

Not on Fab but it has happened to me that I’ve been given the runaround with addresses. Sent on a wild goose chase. I don’t see what anyone gets from it but it certainly pissed me off.
I do like the suggestions of the coffee cup on the step and the ‘who’s near’ function. |

I do that! The last couple I arranged to meet left their coffee grinder on the doorstep instead, though, so I left immediately. Has beans! |

I think there are a fair few time wasters all round tbh, I was chatting to 2 separate women last week both looking to meet that very night. Chatted away to both for ages, things going well, made it quite clear I was available to meet that night, both seemed happy to arrange details, then....... nothing
I think some people only use this as an ego boost

We have been let down twice by wasters both we were in hotels one even asked to speak to Jane to make sure there was a female there and the other asked for a pic of the hotel room door number which we did and again no show so guys like these ruin it for the decent guys out there . |

There's the other side to this. I once set up a meet that involved travelling 20 miles. The host said to text when I arrived in the street and I would get the house number. I arrived, texted, and got back the house number.
Except that the number didn't exist.
I wandered up and down that street like a complete tube looking for a non-existent house. I can only assume that they were standing behind their curtains in a different house having a right laugh at the lost idiot.
Timewasting works both ways and is annoying for all of us. |

Or you can always just ask them to take a selfie next to the street name sign or a very nearby landmark/business. That works on multiple apps, not just fab  |
