Hi Happy Fabbers
I’m setting off on this challenge next month and wanted to hear any stories/tips you might have (The Good, the Bad and the Sexy)!
I’m aiming for 6 days to complete with a mixture of wild camping and campsite overnights. I have family providing baggage support for a couple of legs too! |

Good on you mate, I did it back in June, the hardest part by far is along Loch lommond especially from Rowardennan to Beinglass. Its more a scramble than a walk, nice big ladder to climb too
Even though some parts are tough, you'll have a blast.
Just make sure you take care of your feet |

I did it around then too, weather was superb, was quite a bit quieter than normal I thought. |

Wear the right socks, a lot of folks spend a fortune on shoes or boot but wear sock the rub the top of yer toe to oblivion... at the time of year your doing it you'll have shorter daylight so make sure you set out early. I see you're doing it in six days so your stints each day will be a bit shorter than mine so set out no later than nine am... |

Shoes, boots and socks should of course be plural... Unless yer doing it one legged then that's different. |

Camped before at campsites along the way but use the B&B's now, got used to being comfortable. |

Always telling people about good socks! (FML). Highly recommend Bridgedale, they do some terrific hiking socks. I double up with one of their thin merrino liner socks and a thicker one over the top. |

Yeah get a few good pairs of socks and rotate them, keep a pair only for sleeping in.
Yeah we camped all the way except at glencoe we got a pod (thought it was going to be a full long day of walking in the rain, so opted for a pod to save any faff. Ended up being sunny lol)
There are a few spots to wild camp but we ended up sticking to campsites, having a shower each night was great. Doesn't mater if it's raining or not, your gonna be wet. |
