We're over from Ireland this weekend and looking for restaurant suggestions. We prefer something a little special.

North Lakes and Manchester

Be quick to book somewhere, everywhere tends to be full these days, we like kyloe grill with excellent steaks or Hawksmoor always good, dishoom spicy or the Ivy, a bit main stream but maybe a chance of getting in!

probably a fact, but just checked dishoom and they are back to walk ins in the evening, you may have to queue but it’s worth it

Ohh that’s not much time to book! Best bet would be Cafe Andaluz on George Street, and chance a few cocktails across the road at Tonic for the best pornstar martini in town

If you enjoy seafood Ondine is the best.

Something wee bit different Aizle

Both excellent and both local first class chefs.

Edinburgh

The Lookout, Calton Hill

Butta Burger, City Centre

Chophouse, Leith

Down the Hatch, it’s not fancy, but their food is ace.

Would be some of my first choices

Aberdeen, Leeds, Sheffield

For light food I always enjoy La Barantine, a French patisserie that does sandwiches, quiches etc too. They have a few outlets, their café at Grassmarket is quite nice.

The brasserie at French Institute near the top of the Royal Mile is rather nice too for proper meals.

Hi guys hope you got something nice sorted out, the restaurants tend to get booked up quite far in advance at the moment which makes it a bit of a nightmare. Enjoy your trip x

Both extremely over rated mate, but that’s just my opinion based on having been at both a few times. Much more imaginative places to eat, no matter your budget!!’

Down the hatch is an amazing Canadian restaurant.

Agreed, it’s nothing fancy but the food, interior design and staff are fantastic

I go to these places once or twice a year.

Agreed that there’s much better places for the budget but like you said, it’s opinion based!
