I’ve had the pleasure of working down there a few times. That’s all I can say about that particular job though. Great city, great people. Even though I do find a janner accent pretty funny.
Sad to learn of a man shooting innocent people in the city tonight. Especially a three year old girl who’s probably full of the wonders of the world and her whole life ahead of her.
What doesn’t surprise me is that it was a loner who was shunned most of his life. I’m surprised his firearms weren’t taken off him due to his social media posts. His mental health was clearly in turmoil. I really don’t know why people that feel they need to resort to such barbaric acts can’t hold their hands up and ask for help
Thoughts are with the victims and their families at this difficult time |

"Maybe he did ask for help and nobody helped him. The waiting lists and resources for mental health issues in Britain are shocking. A sad affair for all involved."
Agreed. Mental health is greatly lacking in many areas, but if he had asked his GP for help he should have had his firearm license revoked immediately.
Although not sure how it works, do the police take away their firearms in that situation? |

Do GPs know which of their patients have firearms licences? |

"Yeah, their GP has to fill in a form and it's noted on their record that they hold one.
"
Yep, plus if you go to your doctors regarding mental health your doctor is obliged to inform your FAC officer. I actually have the same FAC officer as the fella from Plymouth and I was told that I would have to surrender any guns in my possession if the doctor raised any concern |

According to the news the gunman had his gun taken off him for several months but got it handed back to him in July. |
