I'm sure the pi s will tell you how wrong I am..... I'm not though

There is only one person who can get you in shape and that's you research it all yourself ensure you are willing and able to follow that path and just do it.

3 yrs ago after many yrs of neglect I came to a realization while resting a cup on my gut. It was time to change and off I went on a keto intermittent fasting lifestyle which I still mostly follow (I have cheat days for carbs)

I'm not saying that's your path only you can decide what your able to follow through with and that's the key here no breaking the rules of your path. Also remember it's not a diet and exsecise it's a lifestyle change you go back to your old ways you get back what you don't want also a diet is seen as temporary a lifestyle choice isn't.

Like Kola I've been fasting for over a year now, originally lost around 1.5 stone when I first started, as said it's not a diet but a lifestyle. I am so used to it now that I'm rarely hungry before 2pm.

I've also recently discovered hula hooping which is doing wonders for my waist and belly

Personal trainers are overrated! I had one, but I should of checked their credentials. Turns out they were a personal trainer for whale world!

Only way anyone can ever lose body fat is to be in calorie deficit.

So if you consume 1500 calories for example… aim to burn 2000.

Change your diet. Drink 3 litres of water a day.

Do weight training too

I've only recently started, first few times I bruised but that doesn't happen anymore, the classes last about an hour

Got my own hoop delivered today so going to start off on 10 minutes a day a go from there

40-50 sit ups everyday, 6 days a week. Put your knees right up.

2.5km jog twice a week. 3 times a week is ideal. Wear baggy clothes, you'll cut more faster from sweating.

Cut out meats completely for the time being replace with cereal, fruit, pasta and rice salads. Sugary drinks/snacks and alcohol need to go completely while you're training. Fresh orange juice is a good alternative.

and the most obvious one... water, drink as much as you can everyday, it feeds the brain and flushes the body. It can help suppress appetite too.

Keep a strict routine and embrace the burn and you'll see the results before you know it.

Pilates is one of the better methods ,if done properly,or buy a book called the pilates body and follow the well explained instructions

Depends what stage your at in your journey!

Any exercise using your own body weight (push ups, squats, dips) will get you started running, cycling or even walking they all contribute. But you can’t just change your diet straight away your body would start to crave and makes it a lot harder to stick to any diet, gradually replace foods and it can help with the change in diet

I have a personal trainer and understand why you would look for one, I find creating a meal plan that's nutritionally balanced enough really difficult. For me a PT keeps me on track and helps me out, I'm doing 'healthier' eating (not restricting, not fasting, not keto, just managing calorie intake) and lost 12kg alone. My PT is the next step for me getting into the gym and working on losing fat and gaining muscle.

I found mine word of mouth, but Instagram is a great place to look. Loads of pts and gyms with super active profiles to watch others progress. Hope you find what you're looking for

Baggy clothes weigh more and catch the wind if you're running outdoors rather than running in light gear. You'll be physically exerting yourself more to keep up the pace. This isn't uncommon when looking to cut.

Not to oversimplify things, but it's a case of eating less and moving more. When it comes to the moving more, try and find something you enjoy doing. Good luck.

I find the baggy clothes think weird also you want to add weight there's wrist ankle waist belts and bands as for catching the wind your not a sailboat.

There's plenty of guys out there bombing about in an oversized hoodie and joggers mate. I'm not suggesting three sizes bigger or pirates of the carribbean. The sudden increase in body temperature forces the body to use more energy for the cooling down process i.e sweating which burns a few extra calories on top of the run it all adds up. As for the wrist, ankle weights, belts, bands all that for me is a bit weird especially if outdoors, especially if raining which is always likely. A simple change in attire would suffice.

I never mentioned definition, I said "to cut" as in shed the weight not to look cut. Tone would come in time with a steady routine anyway. The op is only in his mid 30's. He should go for it.

You tried to give the impression that baggy ill fitting clothing is somehow beneficial so why do leading sports, athletic,health and fitness brands not conform to this? why do the conform to weight belts and so on

Cutting is something in shape people do its a means of casting of the last remnants of the fat layer its not something a layperson does until they have themselves in reasonable shape not someone just starting out.

are you signed onto a gym? Most do an introduction how to use equipment and the gym I'm with would do you a plan that day quite generic based on your assessment during your intro. Check with your council also you can save a fair bit of cash as they have schemes running

Because they have products to sell and brands to advertise. You'll find plenty of pro-athletes out in a simple hoodie and joggers.

It would be weird running in those things for most people irrespective of the weather. If you want to fork out on magazine accessories then go for it. If you want to build your legs and stomach you can just run directly against a sharp upward incline.

Cutting is simply reducing your fat percentage. You can be in-shape or out of shape. Shape is perception at the end of the day. You get plenty of competitive weight lifters that "look" overweight. They still have to cut for competitions.

I've been doing endurance running from a young age. The op just asked for some tips we all have our opinions.
