Sadly another social is cancelled due to non payment
Why is this..
Are there too many socials/lunches/drink nights/club nights and during these tougher financial times they are edging their bets and waiting to see what else may come up and then not paying.
I know the socials/lunches cover a wide geographical area so catering for people who may not be able to travel or want to spend money on petrol/hotels.
Is it better to have them quarterly/half yearly and rotate the venues/locations.
A lot of hard work goes into organising them and it so sad when any get cancelled. |

i'm not sure why this site has so many problems with its socials. I'm an active member on a number of different sites and organise parties through them, some of them are upwards of £30 a ticket, and never had a problem with non payers, cancellations or ticket sales |

I still say thatyou don't go on the social list till you pay for your pLace. Too many say me me me I'll go and take up places others could have. Regulars seem to be the worst, thy appear on every social list and its the usual. You know me, I'll pay you later. |

I'd quite happily pay £30 or more for a quality event.
Just saying like |

"that is why paying by paypal before your name is confirmed is right so as to allow the venue cost to be covered and the organiser has no financial exposure" definatley _iew ive been highly critisised for the way i run socials but ive been out of pocket too many times and im not doing it anymore so you pay up front or you dont go its as simple as that as as ive said before since i started doing this ive not once been out of pocket and people do turn up .

We take our hats off to the people who put in all the work to organise these Social events.
However in our opinion, when a Serial Canceller appears on their thread to request a place at their upcoming event...they should be refused and given the reason that they are always cancelling....Hence wasting the organisers time... |

Even then youd still be criticised for refusing someone to attend when the socials are open to all |

That is why those who pay first get the places first. Simple. |

We were worried at first when we started doing the ball due it to being a bit more pricey than the norm...we were also worried about being out of pocket...we decided right from the start it would be first to pay get the places and its worked out well thankfully.....
I think the way forward is first to pay get the places....no holding places open and lists of people....simply those that pay first attend.....

Seems all too easy to shout, "ooh 2 tickets ere please", and folks then cant appreciate, for it to be booked/paid and a success, prompt payment to help the organisers should also happen. |
