Favourite/Worst Beer
Jump to: Newest in thread
How many guys here have a favourite beer or cider and equally ones which they loath.
My favourite would have to be Guinness, regular pint, properly served and nice and creamy.
Others in no particular order would be:
Budvar...proper Czech one
Spitfire
Addlestones Cider
St.Andrews Ale(no more than 4 pints as seriously sore head beer !!)
As for beers I loath number one is Cold Guinness....disgusting !!
Tennents Lager...Toilet Cleaner !!
All ciders served with ice....Whats that about !!
What are yours? |

Guinness ... has to be on draught from a pub tap though, couldn't drink it from a can.
Hoegaarden (pronounced whogarden) is also one of ma fav's, looks cloudy in appearence and like Guinness you either love it or hate it...but it's sooo different in comparison to anything else i've tried and really refreshing too, nice for a wee change. |

I'm with Charlie69 re Deuchars IPA. Wonderful stuff, excellent alone or with food and, at 3.8%, it's a beer you can drink all evening if you so choose. It travels well, is available in lots of places and, of course, it's Scottish. |

I will start with the one i hate first,Tennents lager-i think it all stems from when i was young and at New Year our house was always full of relatives for the Bells,i seem to remember "stealing" a few cans from the kitchen lol and the fatal mistake was they were warm...put me off them for life.
Beers,Lager etc i am drinking just now really depends which is on draught when i go out-i remember a crazy night on Staropramen(czech lager)..wow hot shit lol my last memory was getting up to go to the toilet in the pub my body went one way and my legs went the other way towards the door.D*unk from the toes up.
Most pubs really only have the "usual" offerings of lager Miller,Fosters etc on sale unless you end up drinking bottled beer.Right now i have been getting back into drinking cans of Red Stripe-this stuff puts hairs on your chest..and a nail in your coffin lol.
One drink i hate is Whiskey..well on it's own anyway, how can people just knock it back then pull that "distressed look" i would take a baileys on ice over straight whiskey anytime..
I like Cider too,not really a fan of the pear Cider that is all the rage just now-just leaves a perfume taste in the mouth...and farts that could set of car alarms from 3 streets away.If i said i also like Cider and Blackcurrant(Diesel) would you say i belong in River City..maybe with a man bag over my shoulder..and wearing pastel colored clothing.
I wish i had a cool beer in the fridge just now.

Back in the late 70s I was having radiotherapy for a cancer and three nights a wee I was given the option of a small bottle of Guinness or a can of Sweetheart Stout - allegedly paid for by the brewers |
