"Anyone from here been and have feedback?"
Amazing, eye opening, eye watering, intriguing, exciting, pant wetting, arse clenching, loads of different things to see and explore and lots to see and admire or simply stare open mouthed like wow
If you’re open minded and interested in the kinkier side of sex and sexual art then go for it
I doubt you’d be disappointed it’s an experience even for the inexperienced just to even say you’ve been but you will need to dress appropriately that is pretty strict
I can’t wait to explore a lot more kink in the future when the nee normal

We have been a couple of times before lock down. So many kinksters in Edinburgh and the outfits are completely off the wall mental. One guy had glitter ball as a head. Completely covered in bits of mirror glass all stuck on by hand.!! |

Think - nightclub with a major twist.
Edinburgh venue, the caves. 2 rooms of music and cabaret, plus catacombs and walkways with seating, bars.
What makes it different. The kinky alterative twist.
Main room music is heavy dance floor beats.
Room two alternative, pop goth, punky mash up.
Cabaret are alternative art forms. Anything for dark burlesque to latex and alt fashion shows to strings of flags from a mutli pierced vagina...
A strict door policy means you only get in if you a dressed appropriately. The more outrageous the better. The line being " if you don't make people stare at you in a street. Your not dress appropriately for torture garden".
There is no couples area like bigger venues, but there a dungeon areas for non sexual play.
Sexual play is discouraged. It doesn't mean it doesn't happen with frisky couples in corners, but its sorta frowned upon because of the venue.
It is a save place to be free spirited and let your inner kinky self be free.
There are lots of FAB peeps. So earlier drinks socials and after parties are always around if you know the right people.

Loved it and all the outfits. Has turned into more of a rave from our earlier visits 5 or 6 years ago. Really enjoyed the latex modelling but feel like it’s pushing the boundaries of kink every year. Play rooms also fun. Spanking bench on one side as a orgy takes place in the other. As well as the St Andrew’s cross.
Plan on going back and showing off our growing latex wardrobe. |

We've only been to one.. and our experience was I guess different to the above reports.
Tldr; I found it cliquey, uninviting, overwhelming, loud, and stressful. I also saw a lot of drug use on the main dancefloor which I was very uncomfortable with
The performers were great, I really wanted to play but constantly felt like i was an outsider, in comparison to swingers clubs the environment is just very different. You have to be very aware that TG is a very judgemental space, and rightfully so! But even though I'd definitely not consider myself new to kink, torture garden definitely wasn't what I was expecting.
I honestly had a horrible experience, I personally don't think I'd go back unless I was going as part of a larger group, if you don't have a group to join then socializing with the locals is really difficult. I'd tell everyone to go once, but the environment can be a lot.
Since telling others of my experience on a different platform I found out in not alone in how I feel about torture garden. I think it's a fantastic event, but its definitely more of a classic club night vs other swinging and kink environments I've been in.
TG is about showcasing the best, it doesn't really offer space for exploring, if you go with the expectation of it being a nightclub with lots more to see then I'm sure you'll be fine. But everyone's experiences are very different and whats fine for one could be a very bad time for someone else |

"Oh also!! It can be very difficult to find a place to sit, I'd bare this in mind and have an escape route planned for if you get tired "
We're going with another couple who have been before. So will have some company at least. |

Would agree with your experience. Can feel very Isolating. Never saw the drug use but we stayed off the main dance floor and prefer the smaller rooms.
Would agree with the feeling of being looked down apon. The only reason we would go back is the love of the outfits & the hope of finding a couple who might be interested in playing. Still to find that thow. |

It is an amazing night out and I look forward to it everytime from the minute I buy my ticket and start planning my outfit. My personal experience is it is very non-judgemental and I have always found it this way. I've been on my own and as part of a couple. I have found people to be very friendly and always get talking with people old and new to TG. The outfits are amazing and yeah be open minded, dress in something that meets the dress code and you feel sexy in and have a good time. |

Check out their website and join their Facebook page. That way you’ll get to know a few people and maybe won’t feel so isolated before you go. You’ll also be able to check out the dress code.
It’s a cobbled street so bear this in mind when choosing footwear.
I’ve always found it to be a great night. I love the burlesque entertainment. It’s a great experience and let’s you wear your wildest outfits outside of the bedroom. It gets very hot as well though even if you’re not wearing much. |

Been going for years I do agree it can seen cliquey if you don’t know anyone but most people are usually friendly if you strike up a conversation. Something to bear in mind is that it is a fetish/kink event and not a bdsm or swinging event (although both do go on) so if you go expecting play you will be disappointed if you go to see fantastic acts and amazing outfits then you will have a great time. (Bring flats your feet will get sore and you will be cold when you go outside as it’s boiling in the caves )
Always happy to chat to people when I go and can’t wait to get back x |

I've always been there with friends from the kink scene but completely agree that it could feel cliquey if you are there alone. That said, most people are really friendly and if you get over the initial barrier, conversations are pretty easy to strike up. Rather than see a group and think 'clique', just go say hi. With so many great outfits it's easy to find a reason to go up to someone and chat.
I'm not big into clubbing and useless at approaching people in that kind of environment. I tended to stick to the smaller/play rooms, either watching other people's scenes or playing myself.
As a top I've scened with friends and people I've met on the night who've approached me after watching me with a play partner and asked me to flog them too or whatever.
NOTE that 'play' in this context is kink, *not* sex. Impact play, restraint, etc.
It's a very intense event, but once you get over the shock very worthwhile trying out if you're into the scene. |
