It seems like in the last year that the amount of dogs getting stolen has gotten really high.
There was a story I read this morning that someone answered their door and a group of masked men broke in and stole a pup he only had for a few weeks. Pretty scary stuff.

Has anyone ever been or known a victim of dog napping? |

Yes, although not in Scotland. I believe it's been going on all over the UK. We've had several locally that have been taken, either from gardens or when out for a walk. Supposedly it's been down to the demand over lockdown for dogs. All types of breeds. Either being sold on or used to breed to sell puppies. The price of dogs has more than doubled in the past year. I believe one county in the UK has had a police officer that spends all her time on the subject. A cruel thing to do as for many a dog is as much a family member as a child. Obviously not the same, but... |

There has been a gang activity following people and watching houses in the Wishaw area since before Christmas quiet a few people have told me they were followed when out walking the dog or strangers looking at homes with dogs |

There’s a lot of this happening as there is a shortage of pups .. another issue from Covid unfortunately.. and like most things in shortfall they price of pups has rocketed .. which makes stealing a pet attractive to criminals .. I’d be devastated if either of my 2 went missing |
