Word play can be a lot of fun, especially for all those cunning linguists out there.
One of my favourite types is the spoonerism where letter or letters are transposed between words.
For example, if you refer to someone as a 'shining wit', in spoonerism terms, you're calling them a 'whining shit'.

Not a spoonerism, but I do have a habit of reading words backwards. When asked for a password for a Burton account many moons back, the lass behind the counter looked at me nonplussed when I announced "Nut rub". Her surprise dissipated, but only a touch, after I spelt it - correctly this time.
She probably thought it was some kind of partyboob. |
