My kids joke I am but not in the least like a true medical condition.
Iv watched documentaries about it and it's awful. A guys marriage fell apart because he literally could not leave the house for constantly washing his hands. |

I watched a program and the condition can ruin a person's life.
In the program it showed 3 people whose lives were blighted by constant washing and showering. Just to go out the house involved hours of preparation and on return another list of washing tasks to be done.
One of my ex's friends has it and her life is miserable as she hardly ever leaves the house. If she arranges to meet her pal it is 50/50 if the pal will turn up as she might take fright. Covid has just made it even worse. |

its an overriding obsession with germ removal, so constant washing hands, constant anti bac, not a crumb, not a hair, not a ruffle, not a splash, not a thing out of place even a little, no tea stains etc.
none of which is good for immune system as it needs the little bits to build it.
OCD sufferers have been really struggling through out lockdowns, it's drove them way over the top, partly because of the excessive media coverage especially at the start when everything was about the virus as if nothing else was happening in the world but that.
I couldn't be like that & I'd be someone's nightmare with what I do, I'm a bit blokey that way (like a workie's bothie doesn't phase me, nor does drinking tea with workshop 'bits' in it) |

This is seriously not a piss take take post information on subject " your doing the classic and making the mistake of thinking ocd has to do with cutting grass cleaning kitchens so on so fourth.
Ocd manifests in many ways at times I can have massive ocds none of which involve cleaning.
The one take home of ocds would be its not enjoyable for the person suffering. You know at times what your doing is mental but it will drive you even further down that line as an example.
To turn on a light only 7 steps.... Must close left eye incase a spider jumps at face... Must always start on the left foot... Toes of foot must touch floor first if left unchecked this can continue. |
