International Women's Day

Most days the world tries to tell us we are not enough or too much.

We are force fed images, quotes, stories and advice telling us to change in some way (often for the purposes of love or success) and it gets dressed up as inspiration or "help". When in actual fact it's just nonsense.

We already sometimes feel that we are not enough or too much, we don't need the drivel to perpetuate those feelings.

We get compared to each other all the time, we get slated for not confirming and equally we get told we are weak if we do. Most days we can not do right for doing wrong in someone's eyes.

Sometimes we are striving to be some form of perfection that doesn't really exist and we get condemned for trying too hard or not enough.

Sometimes other women are our harshest critics and often we are our own worst enemies.

So today, I want to say to say to all women you rock, be kind to yourself and each other.

Celebrate you for you because no one can do that better than you can

Nah Sinders is right but you’re not entirely wrong. I’d say own yourself and be kind to others

I think it would be nice if, for today at least, more women could resolve to be kind to themselves first and foremost, and attempt to harness the contentment just 'being ' can often bring

We're all going through it at the moment but I have to say that today I've actually had a day of calm and happiness. I've meditated, spoken to my mum on the phone and even got some reading done. Remember people, it's the little things us ladies love and mean the most and it's always nice to be nice to each other. Hope all the ladies on here had a great day today whatever you did x

I'm so sorry to hear that your mum isn't well. I haven't been my parents since December so I can only speak to them on the phone. I'm more worried about my dad as he has Dementia and his symptoms are getting worse. I'm lucky to still have them but I'm getting very concerned now as we all know how time is so precious x
