Best sporting event in the world and we have secured it, looking forward to just about every event and hope we as a nation do well.
Dont understand the knockers, we will be left a legacy of great sporting venues, young kids motivated to play sport, getting the off the street and it brings millions into our poor economy. Win win situation.
Come on Britain ...... |

"WHO cares lol
Not me....biggest waste of my tax money.........EVER "
I don't know about that, more like the most recent big waste of your tax money. Millennium Dome, bidding for Euro 2008, Olympics, Commonwealth Games. it is all the same. If we cut out all the above imagine all the cash we would have. in fairness I am sure the government will say this generates plenty for the economy. Hang on though were we not skint in the first place? Looking forward to watching the same trivial tripe on BBC 24 times over. What a waste of time and money! Will no doubt have to sit through the equestrian stuff on tv, quite enjoy the odd bit of boxing, rowing and cycling. I am getting so cynical in my old age |

First mistake to Glasgow ... They had the wrong flag for North Korea on the board and caused a delay of an hour. They had South Koreas flag on the big telly instead. You can't get the staff these days! |

You know you do have to option of turning your tv off don't you?
I'm quite excited about the Olympics, I've started a sweep stake at work, I took time off work when the torch was going through the town.
It'll only ever be in Britain once in our lifetimes, it's going ahead whether we moan about money or not and will bring in plenty of money to our economy, so why big enjoy it? Life is too short to be so negative about something that you can't change and doesn't really impact on your life that much if you don't let it. |

Wtf? I dont know any Dr on under £50,000
Gps earn upwards of £70,000 Stopping the Olympics wont stop worldwide poverty or provide houses for every homeless person in the world. It will benefit our youngsters and motivate them to do more than stand on street corners. |

I'am super excited about the paralympics and will be watching more of that than the actual Olympic's.
I qualified for the scottish team of the paralympic's but sadly had to turn down my place for surgery. Incredible achievment, pushing the human body to the maximum when it's been through so much trauma. |

Those stadiums Will be empty when its all done n dusted..they Will have to bump up admission fees that folk cant afford. I mean...our Local football stadium has 3g pitches all round it...$50
An hr they charge ...what kids can afford that??
Thats why the kids have to play im a park with broken Glass and junkies needles ...it now the kids need help...Not the future.

The SFA didn't want any Scottish players in the squad as it would dilute the voting and would probably mean the end of the Scotland team. FIFA are the problem not the Olympics. |
