Is this the MCL ligament on inside of the knee? I damaged mine in June and it’s still far from recovered. Trying tape and knee supports but still suffering. Have had an X-ray and it didn’t show anything wrong. Am hoping it’s not just that I’m getting old ffs!!! ![](/icons/s/redface.gif) |

My pain is mainly just below the knee and slightly to the inside of my knee. I thought I would have to keep it cold so inflammation didn't get worse? Yeah I've tried tubigrip but it just keeps rolling down. Will look into a better Support. Thank you |

Honestly your better to contact a professional , I suffered an horrendous knee injury in July. Last thing you want to do is to make it worse. So if I was you I would be seeking guidance from a trained medical professional/ physiotherapist. Good luck OP |

Injured my right knee over 20yrs ago. Ignored it at the time and it still gives me bother. Get to a physio if you can. |

Do you mean will pilates help with your damaged ligiment? (only ones I know of in knee are interior anterior and medial) pilates would help the same as any stretching exercises.
ice is good for inflammation heat for when in use keeping it cold will stiffen it causing more pain when in use.
I have quite severe tennis elbow and as someone above mentioned while in use a neoprene support really helps (poundland has them in stock) |

Top tip -
1. Get expert advice tailored for you and your injury, not from an internet forum.
2. Find a good physio and do what they tell you. (From experience a sports physio will get you back quicker than one that deals mostly with geriatrics).
My own opinion:
Try to keep moving, but listen to your body - if it is too sore STOP.

I hurt my knee when I did the WHW a couple of years ago and it has never healed.
Just when I think i'm fighting fit again and start hiking it flares up and I have to strap it up.
Bloody annoying but hey ho ![](/icons/s/2/eh.gif) |
