Hotels in Scotland and COVID-19

Are hotels still open for business? Particularly up north, Glasgow or north of England?
With all this tier bollocks going on and difference in tiers between up here and down there not sure what’s what.
Not interested in pubs or restaurants tbh as I’m just looking to get away for a change of scenery and maybe do a bit sightseeing even if it is just from the exterior of the sights I’d be seeing while supposedly sightseeing for a couple of days.

All hotels in Scotland are allowed to open. And the ones that can afford to are. The restrictions vairy on what side of the belt they are.
Within the belt they can only serve meals to residents but can not serve them booze unless it goes up to the room.
Out side of the belt they can take walk ins but need to close at 6pm . I beilive the same booze rule applies .
Think this may change soon. |

We have used 1 or 2 hotels in and around Glasgow Airport and city centre and they have all served food and drinks to the room . Although some now are not even serving alcohol or soft drinks to the rooms . |

I’ve got a weekend away in Aberdeen with the BF in a cpl of weeks and at the moment we are still planning on travelling and will be likely to just spend the time in the hotel and enjoying peace and quiet from kids and other distractions tbh some quality couple time. He’s an essential frontline worker and hasn’t stopped working at all and lost his mum to cancer during it all so unless tier 4 hits were defo still going |

We live in Glasgow and going to Edinburgh tonight for a couple of days. I think that’s ok as we are in the same tier. To be honest I would still be going if it were different tiers

Going away next week to a lodge, and in tier 4 but won't be mixing with anyone outside my house hold and won't be going to eat in restaurants etc or sight seeing just some country walks and chilling at the lodge. As far as the guidelines go in tier 4 it is only advisory about travelling, people are still going abroad! |

Spent a few days in Inverness last week, the hotel was pretty busy and restaurant open, only notable restrictions were around not selling alcohol as they didn’t have an outside area, even the leisure facilities were open |

Stayed at the Sheraton. Nice hotel just a pity most of the pubs and restaurants around it were closed but we’ll go back when things are back to normal |

Yes hotels are open but the guidance does ask people in tier 3 areas - like Edinburgh to only travel if its essential and not to come into lower tier areas. I am sure you could with a break but we are all being asked to be sensible and ignoring the travel advice could lead to another national lockdown. |

couldn't agree more , I travel a lot for work but wouldn't think about moving between tier areas at the moment. We are fortunate to be in Tier 1, but that doesn't mean we are all partying in the pubs |
