Aye this, however I do think the media has a lot to answer for and not just covid conspiracy theories but people all have their own thoughts. |

I change my opinion on a daily basis....much like many of the experts as the data and studies are released.
Having 3 family members (1 currently in hospital seriously ill) with Covid I'm fairly certain it's not some massive bloody conspiracy though! |

Hope they get through it ok. I’ve been lucky I guess that no one close has suffered from it. May have had it myself and not been affected. I certainly don’t subscribe to the conspiracy theories. |

I'll second that, all the best and I hope your family comes through this.

Been through it myself mrs Doggy, hope they all get through with no serious after effects.
As far as global conspiracies go, put a dozen doctors/researchers in a room and ask them to reach a consensus on any science you will end up with a riot. How anyone thinks that the global medical/science community could pull off a conspiracy this big is mental.
Its not just tinfoil hats for them, its tinfoil lined armadillo shell helmets. |

For what it is worth, I (Mr) was chatting to a Epidemiologist today who thought we could be dealing with this as we are into early summer next year. Even with a vaccine they thought it could become like flu (become, they weren’t saying it is like flu just now) and have a season (possibly co-including with flu season as more folk are indoors) with 7-10k deaths each year in the uk. Frightening. |

I would agree, not an expert, but I have enough intelligence to look at the data from previous coronavirus outbreaks and see the pattern.
3 main waves 2nd is the worst, lasting around 18 months and annual re-occurances in small outbreaks.
MERS, SARS, Spanish flu, all the same pattern. |

....and then the next debate is the vaccine.
How many people will be willing to take a vaccine that has (understandably!) been created in such a relatively short space of time? I know plenty who are saying no way. |

when you are called to pick up a patient, to take and be tested, arrive at the patients door to be told they got fed up waiting and took a taxi, it makes you wonder what goes on in the minds of some people.
Covid ward 17 in ninewells is almost full right now and talks taking place to open up ward 18 as a further covid ward (for confirmed cases)
ward 42 still open for unconfirmed. |

Who cares? If there's been one constant, it's been the basic advice to keep yourself and your loved ones safe, abs that hasn't changed since the beginning.
The "bigger picture" has hee-haw to do with most peoples daily lives outwith politics, media and claptrap theorising. |

In order to do this you need clear advice from experts last I checked I don't hold a degree in virology so I Nedd advice on protection measures and what advice you get is dependant on who you listen too.
Your the one mentioning the bigger picture not me I said you need a fuller picture without all the skewed nonsense dished out by anyone who wants their face on the tv |

I keep it really simple
Dr Hilary Jones
Dr Sarah Jarvis
Dr Amir Khan
My sister who lectured infection control in hospitals for her career. She told me to wash my hands, sanitise them and wear a mask. I have done so most of the time. I would be a hypocrite if I said all of the time.
I am responsible for me and me alone, I follow my sisters advice and I don’t suggest others do what I say or do. It’s up to them..
15 years ago when I was very active in swinging, multiple meets some days, swinging clubs and parties at my house, I might have taken more risks if I needed my fix of sex and attention, now I don’t. But again, what others do or who they believe is up to them and I wish them a safe outcome. |

So I repeat who's basic advice that hasn't changed because I'm afraid if you mean the govts advice it changes more times than a whores knickers while medical advice is constantly changing eg there's data showing a trend that certain mineral supplements are found low in case studies so supplementing these could be a good preventative measure but hey disregard Al that and hide in the pantry |

There's data on many things kola , lots of it is just bluster. How many were in this case study you speak of , how reliable is the data, who validated the data you speak of , yet you are choosing to follow it by taking supplements lol. You accept this but are questioning what is classed as basic advice by the government's lol . You say the government's advice is always changing but you too are picking and choosing what you want to believe and act upon. So what's wrong with following the government's basic advice. We all choose what we think is right for us . Right or wrong we will all find out eventually if our own personal measures were good enough. |

the data was gathered from cdc and who data. The correlation needs more study but the raw figures point very clearly to the more severe effects are in persons with diminished mineral lvls. I choose to follow it as it can do no harm and cost is miniscule.
I never said there was anything wrong in following the govt advice if you chose I said who is the experts as there is so much conflicting advice.
Old saying to many cooks spoil the broth seem apt imo
I prefer medical advice to come from medical experts simple |

The 'official' figures being put out are totally skewed. At least a third of the deaths attributed to Covid, aren't. And they keep talking about cases, when they should be talking about hospital admissions.
It's all to stoke up the needless fear factor, I sometimes wonder if Boris and Sturgeon have some perverted wish to keep it going! And the Track & Trace system is a complete and utter shambles!! |

Definitely think the virus is real there’s no doubting in that, I do think some of the restrictions that have been put in place are over the top.
Masks, hygiene and distancing are the obvious ones that are key to slowing the spread it’s shocking that people need to be reminded about washing their hands but let’s be honest I’m sure we’ve all came across people thats bodies are strangers to a bar of soap :D. People that complain about masks need to grow up unless you’re on a long bus/train journey or in a hospital most places only require you to wear one for short time. Whilst it would be good to meet others more socially;) I can wait not that desperate for a meet to twist the rules.
Closing pubs/restaurants is mental 99% of venues are complying with what’s required but are being punished because 1% aren’t bothering which is only leading to people breaking the rules, go after the businesses that are breaking the rules and also the individuals make fines instant and of an amount that should discourage future breaches.
The vaccine is a tough one I get peoples fears over the speed it’s being developed at but on the other hand with technology as advanced as it is now is it possible to have one developed so quickly? Science/chemistry is a business if they show that it’s possible to have vaccines/drugs out quickly then why would companies/governments spend more money on years of R&D than they need too?
Hopefully soon we’ll all be able to meet again but until then wash your hands, wear a mask and if you really need an itch scratched DIY lol |

The thing is I dont understand the hospitality punishments not e everyone goes out to get bladdered ,I felt safer in a pub where t&t was implemented and social distance adhered to then I do at work ,where no masks required in communal areas ,we work side by side within inches of multiple households in enclosed hot environment and hmi screens are used by multiple folks ,All perfectly legal within current guidelines issued by SG because of our industry......it a hard pill to swallow that I cant visit my granny but can mix with co.workers ,I think the rules need clarity and more enforcement in the workplaces and loopholes closed |

I can kinda get the alcohol concerns but the establishments breaking the laws should be targeted instead of this all must suffer attitude. It’s the restaurant/cafe I don’t get one of each next to each other both the same size one must close the other can’t but also a a small family restaurant must close but international fast food outlets can have people seated inside |

numbers are creeping up in Tayside although still relatively low

I was tested yesterday, its a very easy pain free procedure |
