Tea for me please.

I have to really fancy a drink to actually have one. If I do it's a Gin & Tonic.

Dalwhinnie or in the absence of that, Jura/Glenfiddich/Balvennie or Tamnavulin for a wee tipple.

Socially, Grouse/bourbon or Jim Beam and diet cola.

Pinot Noir or Malbec occasionally too.

I’m an indiscriminate drinker - each drink has its own merits to be found.

Except gin - that just tastes like various forms of Christmas trees steeped in cheap vodka. It also loses points for being a ubiquitous trend that will be associated with the present time. In 10years, gin cocktails and G&T will be the fodder for comedians making fun of the decade.

I don't understand gin. To paraphrase Dylan Moran, I always thought it was for middle-aged women at parties, who like to sit on the stairs crying because nobody liked their shoes.
