There are obvious films that make you blubber like ET and Schindlers List but what other films unexpectedly make u burst into tears??
The 2 that get me greeting:
Forrest Gump
Les Miserables (the Hugh Jackman / Russell Crowe version) |

I'm quite a sucker for that tear extracting element in films ...even though I know am being exploited n ma soft squidy centre is being prodded I can't help surrender n let them salty pearls flow ...
recently ma orbs moistened at the end of the Swimmer with Burt Lancasters broken (m)ad man trying to gain re-entry into his delusional dreamhome ...to such shapes am I related? - I murmured ...ecce homo! ... n awthat! |

My all American
Blind side
Black watch
Sunshine on Leith; shed a tear first time only.
Sure there are others a well done self sacrifice or funeral scene gets me."
I think it was Black watch one now lol
It had the proclaimers sound track through it though, am I right in saying that? |

Pearl Harbour...
Ben Affleck standing on the staircase of the flight return as he pulls the coffin of his best mate from the aircraft....as she looks on.
The soundtrack "Tennessee" by Hans Zimmer capitalizes the moment

Try watching the end without welling up.
Also Marley and me.
Actually got a labrador puppy about 6-8 weeks before I saw that film. If it had been the other way round would never have got the dog. Still to go through the Owen Wilson bit at the end. |

Deffo Marley and Me. If you're a dog owner or have had a Labrador like Marley then it hits even harder.
The book is even more of a weep-inducer. I was weeping like a baby at the back of the bus whilst reading it.

My Girl, 'he can't see without his glasses' always gets me.
Philadelphia.
The Danish Girl.
The Hannibal season 2 finale, God my heart.
I'm not religious at all but I sobbed my heart out twice in the cinema seeing The Passion of the Christ. It was the most graphic depiction of historic violence I had seen, and knowing people did that shit to each other for real just broke me.

"Mr Pf here. Will admit to shedding a tear at Armageddon. "
Makes me a blundering mess everytime. I dont even need to watch the whole film. Just "that scene" and I'm a snotty sobbing wreck.
The champ and beaches also get me.
Other than that I'm a hard faced bitch |

"Anything with animals or kids.
I'm less fussed with grown adults in pain or meeting a grizzly end.
I'm the same. I have to look up does the dog die website if a dog appears in the movie! "

Oooooft. Ironically until I became a dad I don’t remember any making me cry but the list is growing.
Hatchi: A Dogs Tail. If you don’t howl at this you are dead.
Les Miserable : the scene when Hugh Jackman dies
Saving Private Ryan : The cemetery scene at the end
Field of Dreams: when he realises he is playing catch with his dad. Since my dad passed My eyes sweat at that bit. |

PS I love you
Marley and me
The lost valentine (if you like a weepy and haven't seen it, be prepared)
Just a few obvious ones I can think of.
But as I get older, I seem to shed a tear at some of the most ridiculous things now x |

The champ " wake up champ we gotta go home " heartbreaking ..
Blood diamond "You are Dia Vendy, of the proud Mende tribe. You are a good boy who loves soccer and school. Your mother loves you so much. She waits by the fire making plantains, and red palm oil stew with your sister N'Yanda and the new baby. The cows wait for you. And Babu, the wild dog who minds no one but you. I know they made you do bad things, but you are not a bad boy. I am your father who loves you. And you will come home with me and be my son again".... has me in bits everytime |

No film, play or book has made me cry. Big boys don't cry. That doesn't make me insensitive. They make me think. Make me feel. I feel sad, but it's not real, so why would I cry.
Besides, I'm a high functioning sociopath like Sherlock. |
