Was there a couple of weeks ago, you can do pretty much the whole “island” in a couple of days and I’d recommend you do ... Neist Point is worth the trip alone , Talisker Bay, Uig , Scenery is out of this world |

Loads of beautiful outdoor places on Skye.
Spar cave is cool, make sure you check tide times though!
A boat trip to Loch Coruisk is worth doing to see spectacular scenery (although there's no shortage of that on Skye!)
Lots of great places for delicious food.
It's a few years since I've been over to Skye, must try to get back soon.

Skye is, absolutely heaving with tourists, mainly Brits obviously. Not as many campervans this year as the Europeans aren't driving over as much.
Many campsites are not opening, people are just stopping by the road, setting up a tent, ripping apart fences or cutting trees down for their camp fires, shitting a few yards away, and leaving their mess behind.
There are a handful of swingers, 99% single males of course. And the occasional tourist.
No nude or naturist places, but if you get away from the 6 main tourist attractions you can find isolation.
But the midgies will still find you |

As your travelling north there are many places to see, depe ding on your direction of travel, but if its edingbrugh direction then Dunbar is beautiful, start then I to Edinburgh depending on time the Royal Mile is worth a visit, then onto the M9 travelling North if you go up the A82 through glencoe there is a visitor centre worth a visit, fortwilliam is a nice place to stop and stroll round, the depending which way you go Mallaig or up to Kyle if Lochalsh both routes have stunning views and places to stop enjoy the travel is long but full of adventure and intrigue have travelled that way over 30 yrs and it never fails to fill me up with wonder and wow factor, take midgie repellant the best is oh so soft by Avon works brilliantly.. Take the camera its a very photogenic island Portree is very cute and has lovely wee shops and great eating places. |
