My take is
Social ~ real life meet up to see if there’s a possibility of taking things to the sexual level
Meet ~ meeting up with the definite intention of sex by both parties |

To me a social is an organised event for lots of people to meet socially.
A meet is a meeting with someone most likely social initially.
Sometimes once I know someone we may go onto have a play date where we meet for fun |

I always felt like a social is just maybe drinks to see if there’s a connection with maybe taking things further on another occasion (or maybe that night I suppose)
And a meet is meeting up with someone with sex being the point of the meet, usually with someone that you’ve already had a social with
Social nights are events organised for lots of fabbers to have drinks and get to know each other |

A social is just that. Social.
and this can be with one person or lots of ppl.
A meet can be for fun or just socially.
Depend on how you want to use the terminology.
