So the BBC has done a survey of British female athletes and now doing a story on the abuse they receive.
Some of the comments that are being classed as trolling or abuse are laughable.
Your beautiful
Your to tall
Comments with a heart emoji added are also classed as abuse
Lots of other more serious stuff too but that's unfortunately the price of using these platforms, whether your famous o not
If your to sensitive the solution is simple though, don't use it. !!!

As much as social media has become an every day part or all of our lives, it comes at a price.
Many people think that hidden behind a keyboard or a phone a screen their flippant (or sometimes downright nasty) view has no real impact because of anonymity. That's not true.
While it has many uses and benefits, I do worry about the negative impact it also has on people.
Its not really any different here.
Everytime you post something you leave yourself open to whatever. For the most part we might not take it seriously but for some it's the end of the world.
Being an athlete, celebrity, plain Jane or some random doesn't leave you exempt from that reality |

Wouldn't class the examples given as abuse.
Simply highlights how fucking stupid some men can be though when the best compliment they can pay a world class athlete is "nice tits". |

Exactly my point Mrs D, but my examples are being categorised as forms of abuse. If their such snowflakes , why set up profiles.
Ps nice tits would probably fall into the abuse category for a sports woman lol.

I don't think they're snowflakes. Probably very tired and very frustrated that no matter what the sphere, for many women, how they are valued and judged comes down to their physical attributes (or lack of). Men get it sometimes but no where near on the same level.
Outside of Fab, on entirely non sexual social platforms where I had my face on show, I've had messages from random strangers..."hey gorgeous.."....blah, blah blah. I'm not triggered, don't feel violated in any way but it certainly does become tiresome.
I've now put up a face pic of a 80yr woman with no teeth. Just waiting on some prick saying I must give great gammies. |

id say like the build of a Olympic female shot putter or javelin thrower they ain't gonna get the same comments as a track runner or tennis player.
Typical men saying that its snowflake syndrome when these woman train 24/7 365 days all to be judged on their looks.
While the male equivalent is buff or top of his game blah blah. |
