When is CJ’s reopening?

Yeah, I would say so. Being a single guy on here is incredibly tough. Not complaining, it’s just that there are so many of us and a lot of inarticulate guys out there!
By going to CJ’s you can say hi, be yourself, have a beer and chat to everyone and see if anything happens from there.
Also Caroline puts a cap on the amount of single gents that can attend so couples and singles ladies don’t feel overwhelmed.  |

Does anyone know if CJs are planning on opening for a social? I have heard they have had social only nights before and by all accounts they have been successful. Caroline could even take the money upfront to ensure there are no no shows |

We are booked into glasgow for a night begin october hopefully it's open by then and we can come along. We were due to go before lockdown to check it out but for obvious we had to postpone |

I was starting to wonder what child free nights were 
There is only so much to can do with a 2 year old before they drive you mental.
Loved our monthly child free weekends and monthly visits to see Caroline and the team.
Have meet some fantastic people that we now call friends. Would be good to see everyone again can't wait to just mix with adults and people who are on the same wave length as us.
Good company good laughs and maybe a few drinks as well.

Glad to hear that you'll be reopening, especially with the after8 news from the other day. I'm curious about one thing, would it be under the same rules as pubs at the moment i.e. the closing at 10pm or no music? |

As semi regular visitors to CJ’s this is exciting, but I’m interested in how it’s actually going to work within the current rules?
We’re only allowed to meet with one other household and in hospitality venues you have to stay at your table and can only really get up to go to the toilet or leave while wearing a face mask.
I’m confused as to how that would work at a social swinging event.

Totally agree, it would be amazing to be able to see and speak to friends on the scene again at a lifestyle friendly venue. I just can’t see how it’s possible within the current rules, especially the two households part?

That’s good to hear. I suppose it’s the household rule I’m still a bit confused about, in a pub you would have to stay at your table with the one other household you arrived with and can’t socialise with the other people in the pub.
Think we’ll be leaving it until things are eased again, but fair play for giving it a go and I hope it goes well.

Good luck Caroline, personally I think your taking a huge chance though. I know you will follow rules etc and be above board if inspected but the media won't care about the truth or what social distancing you do, they will have a field day. Obviously this is purely just my opinion but it is a gamble in my opinion. Good luck anyway, such a shame to lose our other Scottish club. |

I queried this and got an email with prices...the usual single men being ripped off as usual I think it was £40 just to be sociable...we can do that anywhere for free.... |

I’ve been to a few restaurants for food family things and even a funeral and everyone sat at their own tables and were still able to chat and have a laugh though was rather noisier than normal, it works just means that you can’t quietly whisper gossip as you have to pretty much raise your voice so it’s defo more a free for all in terms of conversation |

When we go out we have to sit at separate tables me and my kids at one table him and his at another so far we’ve managed to get tables next to each other, at the last family meal though his cousins were at the other end of the restaurant and it was so weird as we couldn’t go and sit next to them as there wasn’t any way of moving tables or spare tables near by felt weird going could go and stand near the table one at a time say hi with masks etc on and leave cake on the bonnet of their car when we were leaving |

We are booked in for Saturday.
Won't be what we are used to but we do love a night at Cjs and couldn't imagine the Scottish scene if it ends up being another business which has to close due to covid. Much like eat out to help out everyone was out for a meal on a night they probably normally wouldn't be to help our economy so since this lifestyle is a big part of our lives we are happy to go and socially distance if it helps keep the doors open on what we class as Scotlands main swingers club.
I see people saying it's taking a bit of a risk but pretty sure we've all been in closer contact to others whilst out for a meal, shopping, at the pub or even work for that matter.

COVID-19, NO PHYSICAL MEETS: Hookup online, meet after Covid.
We're standing in solidarity with everyone staying home. This helps the most vulnerable and our NHS. Looking for PHYSICAL MEETS is NOT OK, will be treated as a breach of site rules.
So...still a physical meet. Not online...but still allowed. Hmmm

Here here! Other establishments have put the correct measures in place so why not CJs? It is after all a place to go to have a drink and to meet people. Just like other pubs and clubs. Yes. There is the option to play, just as there is the option to dance in the pubs that have dance floors. Doesn't mean everyone does tho So I for one will be there to socialise and see some familiar faces just like I would if I wanted to meet friends at another establishment. In fairness, single guys complain all the time about how tough it is and going along to a place to socialise and get themselves known may very well lead to future meets, invite to parties etc. It may be the best £40 they ever spent
I was so impressed that Cj posted such a lovely comment on the After8 thread shows how a business owner should conduct themselves during these tough economic times. It's tough and supporting is a persons choice and if they know the price, they make their choice.

Eh mate? Cjs is an establishment that is monitered. It isn't a wee hoose party you know. And establishments like this are allowed to open as long as they have the correct measures in place. Fab cannot stop people meeting in a public place for socials as long as they are abiding by the rules and regulations. They state no physical meets. As in no wee willie and vagina meeting each other. So how the hell is CJs breaching Fab terms and conditions? |

Is it just me that's confused I get supporting the club however when you go to a bar or restaurant you book your table and you do not leave that table unless for the loo and even that is mask on....
How can you do a social when your sitting at one table all night? Or are you allowed to move around but have to sanatiser your hands, tables etc etc before and after??
Also how will track and trace work is everyone giving a name and phone number etc some on here can't even give a real name!
Its also scary to me that people that work in jobs that's they could potentially but high risk people in danger it nurses and carers have commented that they intend to go. |

We have booked in for the 17th an 31st.
Don't care about the play side Cjs was our time away from reality and a chance to be with like minded people.
We are going purely to support Caroline and her team and hopefully after time things will get back to normal again.
Have booked a hotel for the 31st so will make the most of our time in Glasgow and child free time.
Hope to see many of the couples/ singles that we have had the pleasure of meeting over the years in cjs x |

As mentioned earlier you can go to any eating establishment or pub and still communicate with tables around you. There is no music and talking is louder. The only issue I see is if you are wanting to chat to others at tables further away. Then a wee meet in the toilet with a mask on or possibly outside.... All socially distanced would work. Yes, it makes things more difficult but not impossible. And people are now at the stage that they are prepared to overcome the difficulties to have some sort of normality. And here is my own opinion. We all need to get exposed to this. It isn't going away. Herd immunity is the only way. Hiding from it is not going to work. But that is a whole other topic xxx |

Everyone has to show ID going into CJ’s anyway. They know your name and address.
The first time you attend yes but this is for people who have been before "
If you have been before then your details are already on the system so they know who you are and your real name
Need proof of id ie drivers licence or passport for the 1st time you attend.
When you book you would have done so by either email or phone again another way to trace.
Honestly if you are so worried about the measurements Caroline has put in place then no one is forcing you to go |

Personally I’ve always been pro curfews having lived in Greenock we’ve always had a curfew of sorts, all pubs and clubs would close their doors at 11pm and you were stuck in there till closing and it worked so people were d*unk wandering between pubs and clubs this was mainly due to fighting in the town the curfew still exists although it was gradually increased to 12, I’ve always felt there should be a curfew during lockdown restricting your movements to one pub or club and making sure you are in by a certain time. As has already proven though even shutting up shop at 10pm everyone still spills onto the streets as d*unk as they would have been at 3am because they’ve basically drank quicker and stronger. It’s actually a really sad and pathetic example of our society  |

I don’t think anyone would put anyone at risk intentionally if they have a job working with those at high risk. No disrespect intended...
CJs will be simply the same as going to the pub with the exception all going will know others. Restrictions will be in place as there is in any venue... |

She was able to answer my questions about what measures she had in place for sat and that’s helped

First Minister has just kicked this right into touch with her latest announcement, hospitality in Glasgow closes for at least two weeks from Friday.
Although this particular social scenario didn’t appeal to us, I was hopeful that it would work out for Caroline and the team.
Fingers crossed science can make a breakthrough on this virus soon and a bit of normality can return.

I get peoples concern, confusions over the virus and anger from loosing loved ones but calling people irresponsible is ignorant, people who have become infected would mean they have too been irresponsible allowing themselves to come Into contact with a possible infected person without adhering to distancing rules or wearing a mask.
It works both ways both the infected and the person/s who have come into Contact with them . Not just people who get infected to blame.
If anyone is not happy about cjs opening then don't go, don't have contact with people who do go, keep your distance from people and wear a mask if you believe that will keep you from the virus. It's really that simple.

Same happened to my 32 Yr old cousin, she was on a trail cancer treatment which was working but the trail had to stop and she died 4 weeks later, deteriorated very quickly and left behind 2 small children and big family. |

No. I am not dismissing anyone's point of _iew. Far from it. What I take offence at is people slating others because they choose to do what they feel is right for them. There are other issues going on in this world apart from COVID. People are losing their lives left, right and centre to other illnesses and diseases because they are not getting the treatment they require. My cousin has been getting treated for skin cancer. That stopped. She shared with me that there are kids on her ward that have had their treatment delayed because of COVID. Is that fair? So I apologise if I come across as being abrasive in relation to this but when the bigger picture is looked at from a perspective that just isn't all about protecting our own little bubbles then maybe people will see that others are being affected in far worse ways. Some are losing their life through not getting proper care now and it is getting put down as COVID. There is an unfairness in all of this and yes it irates me to see people turn on each other just because they have their own concerns about their own wee bubble xxx |

Interested to know how a social event can be carried out “safely”
Considering in pubs you’re only allowed to stand up and move around if entering/leaving and going to the toilet. Are you only going to be able to be close to your partner and if so where does that leave the singles? Is it a speed dating like setting with moving tables every so often and if so surely that’s breaking protocol?
A friend of mine has suggested heading through on one of the nights and it does interest me but it just seems like too much of an effort. |

True, but the majority are ones that I only see at cjs/clubs so it makes sense to see them there. Plus as I’m working from home, don’t have the opportunity to go for daytime socialising (think Boss would have something to say if I bunked off for coffee :D
As a regular at cjs prior to COVID, I wanted to support Caroline, Michelle and the gang in staying open. We’ve already lost one Scottish club; it’d be sad to see another one go.
I’ve not seen my 96 yr/o Grandmother since February; she was in hosp (non-COVID related), now in nursing home from her own flat and I worry she’ll die there and I’ll have not seen her. so I am mindful. Ian would tell you I’m still cautious when going out; only been on public transport 3 times since lockdown was initially eased and constantly using hand sanitizer etc. My mental health (like many others) took a massive hit since March and the thought of seeing friends and a wee bit of ‘normality’ at cjs was what I was looking forward to.

This debate can go on forever and divide us all as to whether it is a good idea, responsible and safe to go to CJs or not.
I'm sure Caroline, Michelle and the staff have worked extremely hard and spent a lot of time and money to ensure the venue was safe and suitable to re-open for a social only event prior to yesterday's announcement.
Yes - there might be some people that would have chanced their luck and not followed the rules (which I'm sure would have resulted in them being asked to leave the venue), but we are all adults and have the choice not to go if we don't want to; and a responsibility and duty of care for ourselves and others if we do.
Many of us, including ourselves love the social side of FAB. As regulars, we have met some amazing people and have some great FAB friends we were looking forward to seeing again. These last few months have been extremely difficult and no doubt has had a nagative impact on everyone's mental health, but the venue was also a safe haven for those who did not have the opportunity to meet outside CJs.
The one's who were going would have been regulars who respected the rules and would have obided by them to show their support and thank Caroline, Michelle and the staff for all the effort, hard work and patience they have endured over the last few months...
Whilst some may think it is selfish or irresponsible to re-open, think of how difficult this must be for Caroline, Michelle and the staff... I hope they see how much love and support they have and how much everyone misses them and socialising at CJs. I sincerely hope we don't lose CJs and it has to close as a result of this pandemic.
We should be standing strong together and keeping our sense of humour during these unprecidented times, afterall that's what makes us Scottish so well respected and admired.

My opinion is that Caroline never intended to re-open!!
The re-opening could have happened months ago as she has a strong returning customers who would have been happy to pay full price ( or even increased prices to have a social only evening ) however she announced re-opening when After 8 sadly announced they were closing and also when the was highly likely that that the First Minister would impose further restrictions.
Caroline has other business interests and the re-opening of CJs is far down her list of priorities.

I do love when people start go on about everyone being sheep or just going with the herd.
Can I ask what makes you so different from everyone else living their life right now? What makes you the radical that's not going with the herd?
I think Caroline and the team were getting ready to open and I hope when the restrictions are lifted that she can and does. Personally I don't think the club is right for socials at the moment with the distancing and lack of interactions measures being imposed, but that's my call and everyone else makes that call for themselves.
I still wish everyone at cj's the best in getting through all this and I know you'll be back at full swing at some point. |

I don’t see how your at any more risk being at cjs than going into your local supermarket.
I’m sure cj and her team will ensure people stick to the socially distancing rules and enforce it better than many pubs I have been in. Plus more faith in the people we have met there that if they showed any symptoms they wouldn’t come. |

It does seem a little off that even when Fab is still discouraging face to face meets and still promoting virtual swinging there’s people organising meets and events.
It kind brings the site into a little bit of disrepute. Just saying likes. |

Please see Fab guidelines below this was updated 19 weeks ago. Things have evolved and changed since then and will continue to do so.
If you are arranging/seeking outdoor social meets that fall within the social distancing guidelines of keeping 2m apart these are now likely to be OK. Check the government guidelines for detailed advice on this.

Not sure how what CJ is doing is bringing the site into disrepute when Fab clearly states as long as you are following government guidelines then go for it? Fab does not decide what people do and how they do it. Christ, even the government are having issues with doing that. They are discouraging sexual meets. Socialising is not a sexual meet. When are some people going to see the difference here? It is OK to meet in other establishments to have social meets but not CJs? Obviously things are a bit different atm but when it is OK for other establishments then why not here? I do not understand what the issue is? Other pubs/clubs have adapted to be able to operate as social events in a different manner. Why can't CJs? |

The way I see it everyone has their own opinion & can make their own decision on whether to go to a club (or pub, or restaurant....). As long as establishments follow the appropriate laws/guidelines then it should be up to each individual to make a decision for themselves.
Personally I would choose not to be attending CJs at present, nor am I going out to pubs or restaurants. That is my choice, based on my own circumstances, and what i personally feel comfortable with given the current situation. But I don't think I have the right to dictate what other people can or cannot do. |
