We’re off to have a well deserved holiday, would anyone care to suggest things (non sexual as well as) to do in the city that are not totally off due to covid!

Climb Arthur's seat for a fantastic 360 degree view of the city, just walk around soaking up the history, sit outside a pub in the grass Market and chat shit, take a trip down to the seaside at portobello... there's usually loads to do but ive barely left the flat in 4 months and no idea whats open or not...have fun.

"What sort of thing you thinking?"

Basically the normal touristy things.

We like to visit a city and wander round looking at things. We’d like some local tips about quirky pubs or cafes that sorta stuff.

Edinburgh’s a small city and one where you can pack loads into in a short time.

Get yourself a day ticket for lothian Buses or the city tour.

Edinburgh castle.

Princess street gardens

The royal mile

Hollywood house

Calton Hill

Scott’s monument

Haymarket is good for ppl watching and Cockburn Street is quaint and interesting.

There are loads of stuff to see and do. A walk up the Royal Mile to the Castle will probably take a good few hours or jump on the red tourist bus.

Enjoy

Falkirk

Don't know if it will be open yet but a trip to the Edinburgh Dungeons is good fun. A trip to Leith & have a look round the Royal Yacht Brittania if it's open.

Go to south queensferrry and see the 3 bridges (the rail bridge is the only one worth looking at to be honest) have lunch in the hawes inn just below the bridge - if it’s open.

I’d check to see what’s open to be honest, there still isn’t a lot, and anywhere that is opening/open is bookings only

East Ayrshire

If you're wandering around the new town and fancy a traditional pub, try The Cambridge Bar. Best check if it's open first.

You've inspired me. Britannia opens on 27th July. I'm going to book a ticket. I was meant to go on a cruise early July so I will just need to pretend on this wee boat
