Ayrshire/Glasgow

Throughout lockdown I have been buying some nice drams. What’s your favourite?

Loving Smokehead , Caolia 18 , Bruchladdie at the moment.

Had a bottle of Old Parr brought over to us from Japan. Never seen it before, but a good tipple.

Been looking at those copper alembic stills on eBay. Been making my own beer and wine, and my dad used to make his own spirits too when we lived in the Middle East so no stranger to running a still.

I've been really enjoying Jack Daniel's Tennessee Honey. Didn't think I'd like it but I like it a bit too much. It's certainly improving my banjo skills.

My staple is Laphroaig quarter cask but recently been sipping glenfarclass 10 which being so light and honeyed is a nice departure.

I have a few day to day bottles but my special bottle is Balvenie Portwood. I have a 24 yes old anCnoc that I am holding until my friend becomes a grandfather then we will open it and finish it.

Cut my teeth on Glenkinchie so will always have a soft spot for it. Glenrothes is delightful with an ice cube even though I never add ice to any other dram.

Glenturret was my local distillery, and I enjoyed a drop of their 12yo, but now it's been bastardised into The Famous Grouse Experience

The Turret is export only now, I believe

Lidl speyside Ben Brachan is actually really good. Well worth a try. Balvenie has been going down far too nicely as well.....

Cracked open a Glengoyne 21 year old a couple of weeks ago and it’s glorious. Had a few fingers each night. I need to get a new bottle now.
