Decided to use my lockdown time wisely, when I'm not out working, and trying to learn sign language. Doing alright so far if I say so myself.
Interested to here what everyone else has possibly been learning. |

The sign language idea popped into my head as this is my first proper week off. Any pointers to a good site? |

British-sign.Co.UK is pretty good for it, I've been picking some of the stuff up really quickly |

Whilst BSL Sign is a good resource, you are learning singular words. BSL is a language in its own right, with grammar, syntax and structure different from English. There are local, regional and international signs; like a dialect.
As someone who can sign (Level 6 qualified and Deaf/uses hearing aids£ best place is signature.org.uk as they are the awarding body.
Doncaster Deaf trust have launched a BSL online level 1 course (but it may be full now)
BBC See Hear is a long running Deaf programme and good to learn about Deaf Culture. Same with BSL Zone.
Most colleges offer Introductory/BSL level 1 so might be good to research that for when lockdown over and some organisations offer courses.
Any questions, please ask

Not necessarily learning new skills, but I have been revisiting & brushing up on some previous interests.
Been trying to get the gardens tidied up a bit and the greenhouse has seeds sown and plants growing in it for the first time in years.
I'm enjoy baking & am getting back into making homemade bread most days.
I've looked out my wool & hooks and I'm gradually getting to grips with crochet again, including making small hearts for ICU patients and their families who aren't able to be together at the most awful time.
I quite like the idea of learning something new though, just not sure what yet.

Shangri-la |
I've joined an online book group & am reading books I'd never previously have chosen.
Attempting to learn to play guitar... Not very successful so far.
I'm also doing daily yoga/plates classes.

"I have taken up baking. Tried making scones, rock cakes, a banana loaf and a coffee sponge so far. Not had the best of results but practice makes perfect. "
Not been able to get my hands on flour (of any type) or yeast so baking will have to wait!

Trying to relax is hard. I find myself wond up on things now more. But I have found out. We have more in common than drives us part. Thankfully we are stronger together than apart. I will always remember after this to think more and try to understand more before saying anything. Plus to hug the shit out of life it's more fragile than we think. We should all just hug and be thankful. |

Had no problem with that the worst I have found has been eggs. Qite often Tescos have been out of them but Lidls usually have them.

"The hubby is making a love swing for the garden so yesterday I got him to teach me welding"
To shag in? That's your neighbours entertainment sorted for the next 3 weeks then! |
