What is your go to exercise during lockdown.
Jump to: Newest in thread
As we are allowed to get out and exercise daily.
What is your go to....
We are lucky as the canal path is pretty close which gives us options of a walk run or cycle.
1hr round trip can have us cycle from Edinburgh to Ratio.

How are you steming the bordum?? |

"Gym and climbing wall in the garage. Live rural so run or cycle. Need to be active otherwise I'd go mad!
Climbing wall in the garage sounds fantastic."
It's a bouldering wall so not massive but can make the climbing as difficult as you like and overhanging |

Can we come play on your... bouldering wall (once we're allowed back out to play)?
Pullups, pushups, front levers, leg lifts and yoga for us, along with running the dog. |

Similarly, I've the canal near me for cycling, but it's busier now that everyone else has nothing else to do.
Few weeks ago, discovered a route to join the NCR along the clyde, it's a pure cycle path |

It is so interesting in how diverse everyone is being in getting out and keeping the fitness levels up...
Forgot to mention, Lady Voluptas loves an early morning boogie session around the house in her smalls. Will dance around for an hour by herself before I get up for work!! Gotta love her |

Running completely off road, avoiding where people might walk near my village that way I can burn more calories than a walk as never sat around so much in all my life |

Who said us Scots were a bunch of deep fried mars bar loving lard asses..
Go us the fit bods! Lockdown has made us all take action on what little time away we can.
Perhaps a positive in a time of so much negativity.
Scotland becomes a fitter nation all by itself...
Perhaps it might be the start of change that people need.
Less obesity, less heart issues....
Lockdown might be the trigger the country needed along...
Food for thought... |

Been running loads as need to get away from the computer, I ran anyway before this horrible situation but now have more time and actually find it relaxes me more and encourages me to be more productive.
We are also lucky I suppose where we stay that I can run for miles and hardly have any social contact.
Think during this time a bit of exercise or even sexercise is not only good for out physical health but our mental health too.

"All the running events for spring and early summer have been cancelled, so training for when they actually happen. Might make a marathon this year."

"You’re not in lockdown. Lockdown means you dont get out at all"
The terminology may not be, by definition, factual correct, however it is in keeping with the media representation of the current situation and therefore is a valid quotation.
This is a feelgood thread regarding how Scotland as a nation are looking to their own health, exercise and the glorious methods and diversity people have to achieve this.
I reference Scotland in this as this thread wad created in the Scotland fourm group.
Stay home, stay safe enjoy the single excerise we are still allowed for the moment.

Unfortunately for me, my battles are getting weight on not keeping off. Very difficult at moment to exercise as doing anything wipes me. And food comes straight through me. So small walks now and again and just pottering around my house having a spring clean.
Any suggestions of easy to digest, non dairy non carb based foods welcome. Need get some diet specialised build up drinks. Ones I had managed to get hold off were milk powder based... and yeah, My body definitely lactose intolerant now!
Hope all having a good morning xx |

Being a track and field enthusiast my training was built on hill sprints, medicine ball work, jumps, weights and tempo runs. I can do all those except for the weight, which I substitute with calisthenics. |

Contemplating creating a little parkour training area with some old pallets and purchasing some galvanised metal tubing (metal online shops still selling) for the kids, myself included.
Need to find some random tyres chucked down an embankment somewhere. I sure I'll find a few within walking distance. Posh area we live in create the old tyre pull at Spartan! |

Will never complain about Squatting / Deadlifting again, missing throwing weights about |

I’ve been busy painting bathroom (so up/down on chairs) but I sometimes do 1hr loop walk round paisley playing Pokemon (so Poke walk)
Looking forward to going back to swimming when lockdown lifted; do about 45 mins including leg lifts and planking.
But in the meantime have fired up the WiiFit again

Live in the countryside so cycling through the lanes, walking and even swimming in the river. Apart from the fact that my business will probably never recover, I’m wuite enjoying this lockdown |

We have both been jogging and walking. Trying to do at least 5 miles per day but as it’s something we don’t usually do we are getting a lot of pain in our knees so we are going to do every second day for the next week or so and do some exercise in the house |

We get the dog out for his walk but he’s tiny so a 40 mins slow walk absolutely knackers him out. That’s not overly great for us so it’s the spin bike and we have weights for Dci.
The gyms are going to be absolutely mobbed when they reopen huh |

I’m running every second day. Was doing well by the end of January, but I came down with the CV symptoms and it set me back. Still nowhere near what I was doing previously (breathing’s still not great) but I’m getting there.
Used to go to the gym most days, so also trying to do home workouts. Not the same, but again it’s better than nothing. |

Just short of 10miles each way so its a good run in and out
Take it relatively easy heading yo work and on way home maybe blast it a wee bit to get rid of the days stresses and burn a few more calories
4pm ill be getting ready to cycle home |

The evidence is in your photos!
We're lucky to live rurally too so I'm getting out running , cycling and dog walking too. I'd normally be all over the hills but farmers are a bit touchy just now so I'm sticking to the roads and forestry.
I have great sympathy for those cooped up in flats just now. |

We feel fitter for sure.. |
