News is reporting that the UK has requested an extension.

What's the point?

Brexit is inevitable, one year was never a realistic target to negotiate all this stuff.

The transition period would be extended anyway. The British Government has a very good opportunity to do this. They have an excellent explanation

But to what end?

No one knows. The extension seems logical in the current situation in Europe and the world.

To the end that however good or bad BREXIT or the "new deal" we get when it's all done is or isn't, anyone spending time now either in the EU commission or the UK government rather than putting all their efforts into sorting the Corona crisis needs to be sacked. BREXIT can be done for better or worse when this is all over.

I'm not saying that you're wrong.

But can't they still make whatever agreements are going to be made. It's not like we're going to have much choice but to sign whatever shite we're given.

Conference calls people. The tech exists.

Some won't accept that is the position. Ultimately, we may all be better off if the infection is given the attention of the UK and EU.

Well obviously would be a lot easier to deal with it by pooling resources, and if the UK was availing of the funds that the EU has made available and the distribution of ventilators etc.

But people voted leave. And nothing will stop it happening.
