There's no logic to it.

Sadly it's gone from pretending that there's no problem to blaming other people and making it into some sort of fight rather than something serious that requires global cooperation.

It doesn't bode well for the upcoming financial crisis.

Ireland just announces ban on indoor gatherings of more than 100 people, and no more than 500 outside

hopefully this does not include Northern Ireland

It's actually only Shengen countries who are banned, so the UK is not unique.

Ha, so being stood in the middle of 98 people indoors is fine and in the middle of 498 people outdoors

Still illogical as the virus in no longer containable in the UK and we do not health screen Shengen travellers.

There are rumours circulating around that most inter-European flights (including UK) will be grounded from Monday. I'm skeptical myself but I wouldn't rule it out.

I feel the mismagement of this virus in the States could see Trump beaten next year so it might not be all bad.

On the flights, the damage to the aviation industry is bad enough,I think banning inter euro flights will not happen.Anyway in Europe they all cross borders with no checks anyway, the open border policy if the EU is really bad allways has been

When it doesn't work - and it won't - who will he blame?

He's done China and most of Europe.

Mexico? Canada?

Cunts like Trump are all the same; it's never his fault, someone else is always to blame.

Of course it's not logical, we're talking about Trump.

I only mentioned Schengen to show that the UK isn't the only European country that hasn't been banned by the idiot, so we're not that special after all.

Would you suggest we blame someone else for Trumps poor policy decisions? Someone in his backroom staff, his advisors?

You shouldn't blame someone for their own actions?

He shouldn't take personal responsibility for anything for his own words and actions?

Got it

I see Trumps grip on the presidency slipping over the way he is handling this. Plus the cornerstone of his presidency the economy is taking a tank so he can no longer regularly tweet about it.

He’s got work to do now. He needs to get a real grip of Covid 19 otherwise he’s gone.

I've heard this a couple of times now.

I've not seen anything to substantiate it but we are supposed to fly home a week on Monday. I think it could be 50/50 at best.

The problem is that he has been saying fuck you to people who are getting sick and will not have money if they cannot work due to matters out of their control.

I don't like people like that much.

In fact you are not compelled to say fuck you to anyone, ever.

You make your choice and I'll make mine.

The problem with Trump, is that despite his proclamations otherwise, he is far from being a very stable genius. In fact he's closer to a very unstable moron.

If anything he said had some basis of truth to it, then I might admire him as well, but it doesn't so I don't.

We're talking about a man whose ego is so large and fragile that he drew on a weather map with a sharpie when an expert contradicted his claims about a hurricane. Would you do that?

He is not the type of person who should be in the most powerful position in the world, and his handling of the Corona virus crisis so far, proves that beyond doubt.

Whatever the consequences?

There have been dictators who've tried that path, which isn't generally appreciated. Trump's sociopathic tendencies aren't the best attributes to have, whilst taking decisions and implementing policies that could affect the lives of millions. Perhaps you'd be comfortable being beneath him, as he shows a thumbs down or up for your life, like a Caesar

Intelligent leadership is needed when highly complex situations have to be resolved, rather than impulsive shows of self-perceived strength, playing to the other hard of thinking

Boden only called one person a liar rather than the entire medical world and actual sick people.

Admittedly the dogfaced pony soldier part didn't provide much additional information. However, if we are in a crazy competition, Trump is still the biggest cockwomble

the basic problem is that because trump has been proven to lie so much, he has no credibility left when he is trying to (almost) tell the truth...

the other problem is that trump sees the corona virus situation as a financial markets issue, and not a public health issue...

he is going to live and die by the economy until the election in november... but now he has found an opponent that he can't belittle out of existance

he and fox news have a lot of questions to answer!

you couldn't anyway, the rule was that if any non US citizen had travelled to any schengen country in the last 14 days, you would not be admitted regardless of which route you took! you were being sent back or being refused passage to fly!

so us citizens could get "home" via london or dublin.... but it wasn't a loophole for euros to get in...

anyway... since the UK and ireland are being added to that list as of midnight tomorrow, the US is now shut to you for at least the next 30 days!

Americans must be truly superhuman.

Seemingly they have the ability to roam freely around Europe and be able to avoid being infected by Covid-19 whilst mere Europeans succumb to and spread the disease dreadfully.

Maybe Trump will reverse his decision rather quickly, as its election year, and tens of thousands of pissed off Americans isn't going to help his cause.

As there are infections in the US it makes no more or less difference than the US banning travel from anywhere else.

It's just trying to look in control and finding someone to blame after spending weeks denying any problem and all responsibility.
