Northern Power House?
Is it really a tangible thing or just a pipe dream or is it more likely just buzz words for the easily led?
How's this Power House going?
Is it going yet?
If it is, where is it ?

I was born and grew up in the north. And now live in the south.
I see that the divide has changed from north/south to one based more simply on pro Brexit + pro Tory Vs everyone else.
Very roughly speaking.
And the "everyone else" is broken into 100s of factions. |

Genuinely though. That's the divide I see in Britain today. Not a North South divide.
The current Tories and Brexit have shifted things to a new place here.
Just how I see it though. I'm sure everyone has a different viewpoint. |

It goes to show that London taking 400%
of the pot of gold. Compared to the Norths transport allocation per person. this means Londoners get everything done. roads fixed - cheap bus fares. The list is endless. More police budget to keep the London press happy.
Londons leaching our our dosh for decades, has wrongly tarred the rest of the south to them - like shit on a stick.
Turn the equation on its head Boris, so - up north gets all the pot of £1700 per person and londoners get the pittance of £200 - 300 |

But like you say it fkn will not happen the re investment up here - Borris is the ultimate Liar .
Why not make Teesside airport a new - transport hub - linked to all of the main airports in the uk & europe ??
Thus stop destroying the countryside for HS2 & use our northern power house airport |

The bold stand out fact here is it's totally rigged - bunged - and down right wrong in our country that London gets everything, has been bleeding our treasury tax coffers of billions and billions of pounds over the past how long?
Even London buses take the tax tap from us all, to the tune of 2 billion so Londoners can travel cheap compared to the rest of us paying 300% more for public transport.
The Tories have cut all countryside bus links up here in the north making pensioners and vulnerable people more isolated then ever before. |

"Well, London didn’t get the runway it needs whilst the north is getting the biggest transport infrastructure project in British history. "
As soon as HS2 was announced as proceeding, there was no political desire for Heathrow.
Heathrow may get its extension, it may not. But as HS2 proceeds, then expect to see regional airports announce expansion plans. Whether climate change protestors try and block these smaller extensions remains to be seen.
Expect an announcement, probably at the end of this year, maybe next year, on the next big South East investment. This will be Crossrail 2, a North to South line across London. This will allow continuity of work for the Crossrail engineers, and would be of more interest to most Londoners than Heathrow. |

Haha to most people (ie Londoners) it is.
There's been a few studies to define it on cultural or geographical factors. Some had the "North" starting at Leicester.
