Why not. China have supplied extensive rail networks around the word delivering them on time.

The cost will be the deciding factor.

As long as they align with the standards required I dont see an issue.

I’m not surprised as there is over a 106 billion on the table up for grabs and I can see that doubling by the time it gets done.

Les be fair. The Chinese are very good at infrastructure.

I'm not sure they could meet our H and S standards, or maybe some of our building standards. But they do get things done.

They would have no problem meeting the standards.

It's whatever contractor or engineering company that set standards that will be under scrutiny.

We need to get away from the stigma that stuff build in China is not up to standard.

They can build up to very high standards however when budgets start to tighten the standards begin to drop as materials and manpower are the first hit.

Here's my point

Do we think a majority of the 52 % of little englanders would knowingly want Jonny foreigner building our stuff taking our jobs and money out of the country ?

A project of this size is going to need a lot of engineers. Engineers that we just don't have.

Now that HS2 has been signed off, we have Heathrow extension and Crossrail 2 to come.

They would be employing our workers....not going to import 10,000 workers to do the digging!

Reports reckon it could be finished in 5 years and significantly under the hyped up 106 billion, a large chunk of which is no doubt for "advisors" and "feasibility studies" etc...

Hopefully, the Chinese are making a serious offer.

It would be a shame if it were just a taunt, like "You're shit, and you know you are!"

I guess we'll see. IF the government takes them up on it.

I'm one of your 52% "little Englanders". And contrary to your obvious opinion about people who voted leave, I have absolutely no problem with foreign companies working with us on national projects. Stop pretending that everyone that voted leave is some kind of racist xenophobe.

HS2 contracts are already signed . It could only be an ‘involvement’. Not the whole shebang.
