What you fantasise about as a means to justify your thought process, is not actually reality.
It doesn’t surprise my that so many Brexiters are still not satisfied that we are leaving. They now need the EU to fail, to further justify their decisions. |

I have a life outside Fab and this kind of attitude is very prevalent amongst many, many Brexiters. That said, the same sentiment has been articulated on here by many Brexiters too so I don’t really understand your point.
What about you? Are you hoping that the EU continues to be the largest and most successful economic and political union in the world and perhaps becomes even better now that it is rid of its dragging anchor? |

The euro zone is in decline. Every single report/analysis says so. It is becoming increasingly irrelevant. Best to get out and not be dragged down with it, unable to forge new trade deals. The UKs exit is just the beginning |

I’m being incredibly nice. I’m letting the brexiters own this completely. Whatever the outcome, it’s all on them |

At 11pm this evening we become subject to EU regulations without having any say in their creation.
Moving beyond 2020, If we want to continue to trade goods with the EU (our largest trade partner) then we will have to accept EU standards of packaging, labelling and quality, again without having any say in their creation.

Can I ask did you open yr factory in Europe or did you stick with Liverpool ? |

As we do in any export market and as any importer has to meet ours, of course if you are VW you just lie to meet usa regs and pay billions when caught out. When any business sells stuff to another one they have to meet the specs set whether it's in the same country or a different one, |

Our economy has grown almost constantly since 1973. It had spikes in 1975 and 1992. Then a big dip in 2016.
Our economic success has been intrinsically linked to our EU membership. Have a look at the trade value between the UK and nations like Poland before and after their EU membership. |

And this is our largest trade partner.
The one we want ‘regulatory divergence’ from, according to this government.
What does that mean, do you think? |

And in reality, you know reality, has ANYONE had any realistic , worthwhile say in EU regulations ??. That’s why people voted to leave . For the very reason that we have had no choice but to go along with all the EUs dictats. Regulations have always been imposed without the UK have any power or right to say NO. Well now the country will be able to say no . Pretty simple really |

Yes linked to the EU. And now, today, right now , the eurozone is in decline . Seems like a good time to say Au revoir, |

How many times have we said no and been outvoted since the creation of the EU? As a percentage, if you prefer. |

Well they were part of the Soviet Union (they didn't fare to well under socialism) before joining the EU (and receiving shed loads of EU money) and now are doing quite well but have voted in an anti EU prime minister.
The UK were 5th in the world before joining the EU and have moved up to the ranks of err 5th when leaving.
Of course capitalism is the true driver of wealth, some say the EU over regulates this and causes slow growth, others say without it we'll end up like China, I think the real decline in UK GDP will come from the fact we've driven children into idiocy with a red tape over arching all encompassing government structure that kills problem solving and creativity.

If the EU fails, it will have major consequences for the world. Everyone will be drawn into the economic mire.
What we should wish for is a successful Britain and a successful separate EU, even if the former is not a signed up member to the latter.
Our future economic success is still tied to the ups and downs of the EU as well as the US, China etc etc. The only difference in the long term is that we will diverge from elements of social and political policy. |
