US President Donald Trump has decried climate "prophets of doom" in a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos, where sustainability is the main theme.
He called for a rejection of "predictions of the apocalypse" and said America would defend its economy.
Mr Trump did not directly name the teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg, who was in the audience.
Trump has eroded environmental laws and protections for local communities in favor of corporate pay offs to the State. |

He's got a point with "prophets of doom". But it can't be ignored.
I prefer to say it is man sped up rather than man made and we need to slow the process if possible to give nature a chance to adapt better.
Unfortunately the greem movement lost a lot of credibility in the last election when several followers were prepared to ditch their principles to vote tactically. That gave a message that the problem wasn't as bad as the doom mongers make out. |

Climate change is a fact, mankind is speeding it up drastically, that's a fact, nations of the world are doing nothing to slow the human influence on climate chance, that's a fact, any scientist that's not being hushed up knows this to be true, that's a fact, anyone who thinks otherwise is an idiot just like trump, and that's also a fact!!!!!! |

That's the problem though, without a conserted effort to reduce pollution by the biggest polluting countries then anything we do is like pissing in the wind globally. |

Here's a simple solution. Halve your meet intake per week. Instead of meat every night only eat it every second night. If the whole world followed suit there would be no need to burn the rainforest.

There is a flip side to that eco friendly trip on board Malizia II, two crew members had to fly across the Atlantic to New York to bring it back, and two other the crew members that made the original voyage had to fly across the Atlantic from the US to return home. So that's four flights to keep Greta from making two. Not only that but she took even took a train too Plymouth to board the Malizia II could she not Cycle? Greta also ate numerous freeze-dried meals, which I assume are encased in some single use plastic product, plus her father, a two-man crew, and some cameraman documenting the experience that equated to over 200 meals. That does not include how she got home and what carbon footprint was left by her and others involved.
It's impossible for her to travel around the world without increasing her carbon footprint directly or indirectly.
I do admire her passion but she needs to practice what she is preaching from her home country. |
