Here I will do the countdown just like the other one I did in october last year, so what do you think will happen with just 3 weeks left? My prediction is that they wont leave. I will have the haribos ready

Didnt boris ask for a 11 month extension? It could be more like 10 years to get a deal.

Yes he made it so that it will only take 11 months to get a deal but that wont happen not sure why he keeps doing these extensions. I wonder the same why they havent left yet they like the benefits of being in the eu no doubt.

Strange remark from someone who spends 50% of their time in France? So what do you think think about the 90/180 day rule?

What happens on Jan 31 is UK enters the transition phase, during which the "future relationship" is converted into a series of legally-binding bilateral agreements.

The expiry date for this was agreed by Mrs May and EU in version 1 of the Withdrawal Agreement to be Dec 31, 2020.

This is because the next 7-year financial cycle of the EU begins on Jan 1, 21.

The Withdrawal Agreement being put forward by Johnson also adheres to the Dec 31 date as the expiry of the transition phase.

Some people think the timescale is too short for all the negotiations and ratifications that will be needed.

Which would mean either an extension on Jan 1 or No Deal.

Farage says he pulled his candidates out of Conservative seats because Johnson promised there would be no extension.

of course, It was supposed to be like a Hollywood movie.

Winning the referrendum was supposed to be like the moment when the Rebel Alliance blew up the Death Star.

Everyone was supposed to cheer, the other side would miraculously realise that they were wrong and we'd all sit around a campfire and sing Kum Ba Ah.

No One was supposed to question it or ask what we do next.

Exactly, and reading through the most recent post, looks like leavers don't care that Brexit is a load of wank. They just jack off.

There is a difference between Brexit and a wank though. A wank has tangible benefits.

Can the next Brexiter give me one please? (A benefit, not a wank!).

We're biased in our perceptions, so that we never get a clear reality. It's been a useful period, including whilst Johnson extended the delay, by sabotaging and voting down May's deal, as it allowed for closer scrutiny of the implications and impact of brexit to be better planned for. Most people on each side want the best for the majority, though they have come to their viewpoints and conclusions via different paths, potentially including having their opinion being manipulated by anonymous parties, who would no doubt stand to gain more than a simple, solitary leave voter.

Everyone is in a position to learn now, from the actual experience of how this affects most of the population.

I can't see the point in rejoining. The purpose of brexit is for a handful of rich arseholes to get richer, and more powerful.

There's no fucking way they would allow the UK to rejoin. Look how easy it was for them to persuade people to vote themselves poorer and to lose their rights, specifically for their personal gain.

1) Because it's widely abused. If we all paid for ourselves, that would be the definition of fairness.

2) Serious crimes against children. Terrorism. Treason. Sadistic murders involving torture. Heinous crimes against animals.

Because these people lack humanity and people don't want to pay to lock them up, or ever see them released.

3) Any ruling they've ever made which overrules the UK's courts. Doesn't matter the context. It's about sovereignty.

4) Yes trade deals take time. Nobody is denying that. Even a few years of WTO is worth it for the medium and long term gain.

5) I'm sure you can see the pervasiveness of feminism, multiculturalism, gender politics, "equality" etc in society. The people that advocate these destructive ideas are almost all Remainers. This reason alone is enough for many to vote Brexit. At literally any price.

Fair play, you are the only person I have spoken to who voted to leave that has been able to give their reasons for doing so. I completely disagree with everything you have said and your reasoning for number 5 confirms what type of person you are and why you and others really voted for Brexit .

It depends on what happens when we leave. if the EU thrives and the promises that have been made by the Brexit leaders haven’t been kept combined with the older generation (the majority of which voted to leave ) dying then I can see a reason why we would want to rejoin

Absolutely shocking that human beings like you still exist in the world.

Utterly abhorrent opinions every time you post up on here.

If I was a leaver I'd be ashamed of these caveman like attitudes you associate with brexit.

Plenty of people who voted leave are good people, I believe misguided. But to suggest they're all as hateful and ignorant as you is patronising to the extreme.

I'd happily see the death penalty brought back for terrorism, murder and sexual assault cases on children etc that are 100% proven.

I'd have no qualms about it at all.

I have no idea . but I think _estival was saying there will be no tangible benefits to Brexit and there were no benefits to staying in.

Dammed if you do and dammed if you don’t...

Christ almighty....when you read some of the donkey sh*t some people post on here it beggars belief! From the rebel at any cost who knocks everything pro and anti society to the openly fascistic who want to kill anybody who doesnt play the white man its really astonishing that some people can even type let alone string a sensible narrative together. God help us all if this is the future of society!

"Hands up who voted to leave to bring back the death penalty for animal cruelty...

I’m going to guess you’re on your own fella..

How would you deal with people torturing animals?

Couple of years inside? A slap on the wrist?

Please, enlighten us."

I’m happy with law as it is .

Do think the guys in red coats chasing a fox and letting hounds tear a fox it to little pieces should swing from the gallows’s.

Or maybe a kid who tortured cats should get the electric chair..

When you say fringe benefits of Brexit.

Is that the lunatic fringe. ?

Have word with yourself..

"

Who voted out because they wanted the death penalty brought back for “Heinous crimes against animals.”

Fuck me ! I’ve read it all now.!

Best example of a dribbling mind yet in the forum.

Give ya head a wobble...

You really don't have any intellectual capacity.

Voting out means we are soon free to enact the death penalty.

PLENTY of people want the death penalty for serious crimes.

Is that hard to understand?

It's just one of the many, many fringe benefits of Brexit.

Get over it, you lost "

But Brexit is going to be amazing? Nobody has ‘lost’ we are all going to win ??

"Are you suggesting that animals should have the same ‘rights’ as people? "

No

I'm suggesting those who seriously hurt them should get more than a slap on the wrist.

I'm not talking about kicking someone's dog that bit you. I'm talking about sadistic acts like mutilation and torture.

How would you punish somebody who uses a blade to cut open and mutilate the innards of animals. Let's say several horses.

Punishment for the vast majority of crimes is too lenient in my view but I wouldn't go as far as the death penalty for cruilty to animals, maybe a good 5 year stretch.

Back to the original question on "benefits of Brexit", we will no longer be bound by protocol 6 in the ECHR legislation.

So we will be free to reinstate the death penalty.

It's something I've personally raised with Dominic Cummings.

So, just to be clear. The main benefit of Brexit for you, is that you feel it justifies some of your bizzare ideas. Such as the death penalty for someone who works at an abattoir.

False.

The European Convention of Human Rights is completely separate from the European Union.

The Conservative manifesto of December 2019 promised only to "update" the Human Rights Act, the legislation that enacts the ECHR in UK law.

There was no mention of leaving the ECHR.

It depends on what happens when we leave. if the EU thrives and the promises that have been made by the Brexit leaders haven’t been kept combined with the older generation (the majority of which voted to leave ) dying then I can see a reason why we would want to rejoin "

The idea we will rejoin because the older people will have died off is not only insulting to our older generation but is silly because young people who voted to remain become older themselves and therefore replace the ones who have died off. It’s the same with Students voting Labour when they aren’t paying any taxes changing to the Tories as they get older and getting more experience of life .As leaver I would be happy with a referendum every generation though (say 25 years) and if we vote to rejoin i would accept it.

In other words, shut up and do as you are told...

No wonder people voted how they were told to vote by the right wing press in the referendum.

Not only that, but those who voted as they're told are whipped up into a storm of anger against anyone who dares to speak out against it.the storm of anger has been from remainers for the last 3 yrs against leave voters just look at the posts to see for yaself 3yrs worth of evidence on a swingers site lol"

"Back to the original question on "benefits of Brexit", we will no longer be bound by protocol 6 in the ECHR legislation.

So we will be free to reinstate the death penalty.

It's something I've personally raised with Dominic Cummings.

Not bound in what way? We are not leaving the ECHR.

Tumble.

So.... any other "benefits" you were conned into mistakenly thinking we'd get leaving the EU?

Turn the question around, what are the benefits of staying? All we really see as cruical is some of the excellent environmental laws the EU has enforced. We hope they are enshrined in UK law.

As we've always said, even if there's zero benefits to leaving (which is doubtful) and all we get is the saving of the membership fee, it's worth leaving purely to spite the sorts of people that voted Remain. It's what they deserve from the damage they've done to every aspect of society.

There's also the factor of politicians respecting the 2016 vote. Even if it was a mistake, we feel honouring a mistake is more important than undermining it and doing a U-turn.

In a nutshell, Democracy and fighting back against Remainers is far, far more important than any actual tangible benefits.

A few benefits just off the top of my head:

- freedom of movement

- common standards and regulatory alignment

- financial passporting

- being within the largest single market on the planet

And your argument is that we won't get any savings in membership fee, but it will "spite" half the country? Really?

A pretty cuntish outlook.

Freedom of movement - Something the vast majority of people are against.

Common standards and regulatory alignment - Yeah, the reason we can't buy hairdryers or vacuum cleaners above a certain wattage. Or mis-shapen fruit. Brilliant

Financial passporting - Important only to Londoners. We hold them in contempt anyway so that doesn't matter.

Being within the largest single market on the planet - Or being unable to trade freely outside of it. Depends which way you look at it.

So, any reasons really worth staying for?

Freedom of movement? The ‘vast’ majority are against it? Really? How many millions of people do you think that applies to?

Misshapen fruit? Hahaha, I can’t wait to buy some deformed fruit, another Brexit bonus.

Would it be fair to say that the majority of our trade is with EU countries? Can you explain why it will be better for us to trade with these countries when we leave ? Even the most hardline Brexit supporters realise this will be impossible .

Then the majority of people in this country would do well to realise that we didn’t have ‘open borders’ even as an EU member.

We even chose not to enforce EU laws on immigration that could have reduced the number of EU migrants here.

We already control our borders.

Answer me this then... if "control our borders" was such an issue, why did our own government not use the various powers it *already* had under EU law to restrict number of EU nationals coming into the country, or to better control those that are already here?

So you think it is worth all this time and money such that you can blast hotter air at your head?

That about sums it all up.

No financial passporting does not just apply to Londoners. It applies to our entire services sector.

As for trade, the numbers just don't support your view. The leave argument on trade is that by increasing friction with 70 countries, including those closest to us, and those we do most business with.... we can go in pursuit of some other smaller deals further away... that we have hardly even begun to negotiate and most likely would involve concession that compromise your hardline stance on immigration.

Vast majority against FOM?, sure it figures with a lot of people but I don't know about the vast majority.

Your regulatory alignment argument is just daft really if you actually looked into the why's and what's of it.

Financial passporting, you obviously know nothing about it going by your reply.

Single market, benefits on being in or out is very difficult to quantify.

Freedom of movement is irrevocably linked with immigration. Something which is of a concern to a majority of Brits. It's generally percieved to be a negative thing, rightly or wrongly. I suspect things like the sorts of people universally making up grooming gangs, or people blowing themselves up at concerts might have something to do with that. Outside of the metropolitan left, virtually everyone wants a reduction in immigration. So FOM will be stopped.

Freedom of movement is also a right enjoyed by brits. A right that is being stripped of them.

What was it that they promised before the referendum? Oh, that’s it. The same rights will be enjoyed after Brexit as before.

Financial and services sector - again, massively a London-centric thing. Again, irrelevant or of little consequence to the majority of people.

These are all minor considerations compared to the big issues of democracy, immigration and freedom.

The bottom line is people who voted Leave knew all of these arguments before they went to the ballot box. On balance, people want to Leave. Some people won't understand that, as their biases are different.

It's all water under the bridge now anyway. Time to get on with more pressing business like destroying the BBC, ending political bias in education and ensuring the Tories stay in power for a generation

Not irrelevant at all. You support removing rights from citizens after it was explicitly stated that rights wouldn’t be lost.

I suspect had the tories offered a Norway style Brexit in 2016, the past 3 years would have been far easier. Remainers on the whole would have accepted that (prominent leavers told everyone that’s why we’d be getting, also).

But no. The ERG headbangers said it wasn’t Brexity enough.

Irrelevant to the majority of people, the actual jobs yes, the loss in revenue to the UK treasury will affect the nation as a whole especially when there's no tangible benefits to point towards that will increase the UK treasury's position to make up for the losses.

That's how it will affect the majority of people, the bigger picture n all that
