Is it just me or havent you asked the same question too? It have now gone 3 years and I believe that the eu have actually given 2 dates before for them to leave, the reason I think it havent happened yet is co they like the drama and crisis it is causing both in the commons and media, they dont really want to leave

The only thing that changes on Feb 1 is:

a) UK citizens lose rights of EU citizenship

b) UK loses voting rights in Council of Ministers

Everything else stays the same until Dec 31.

We will leave the EU on 31st January 2020. Negotiations will then begin, trade deals will be made bearing in mind the EU needs our business as much as we need theirs. By 31st December 2020 the UK will be free from the EU, It's unelected commissioners, unregulated immigration and the UK will be great again and most of the EU will be in debt or recession.

Officially we will have left the EU on 31 jan 2020"

If the conservatives can blame labour for their last 10 years of conservative governance .Theyll blame the EU for at least the next 10 years...

It’s standard in politics.

The EU can blame Britain also...

It’s all going to be awesome...

Boris Johnson has caused much delay, through his time before he became PM.

The reality too was that the referendum didn't explicitly have 1 form of brexit only that was voted for, so it was essential to ascertain what was right and feasible.

Complexity may not be something that many voters like but this process could only be highly complex. A country that integrated itself, its laws, trading relationships and standards over many decades, with thousands of businesses that followed suit, with their investments, locations and logistics, could only be perceived as facing a minor change by simpleminded thinking.

Ultimately the senior keyholders were the government and especially Boris Johnson, who stalled Theresa May's plans over a long period. He made brexit slow very deliberately, even if those lacking detailed critical thinking have mistrusted him as someone who's been frustrated, rather than the one causing frustration.

I still think there is a small possibility it won't happen.

Johnson still doesn't seem to have a coherent answer on the NI border issue. I think the closer it gets the more real that failing will become.

I disagree. BREXIT is going to happen and it is going to happen on 31 Jan 2020. That is definite. What isn't definite is whether all the UK is going to end up on 31 December 2020 with a BREXIT in name only or just Northern Ireland. Either way either all the UK is going to become an EU rule taker with no say in the making of those rules or just Northern Ireland is.

False.

The UK enters a transitional phase that expires Dec 31.

It has 11 months to agree and ratify a "deal".

That deal also needs to be ratified by 27 separate governments and various regional parliaments.

Otherwise, it is the hardest of hard exits.

"Ignorance rules the waves"
. What worries me , is not the ignorance of posters on here ( people like me ) , , , but the ignorance of those at the very top of government, who called for and campaigned for brexit without really realizing what they were campaigning for or voting for ,,,,, the best example being the very top , ( The Prime Minister ) who voted for brexit then voted against his own parties deal , then voted against it again , then voted for it , then on becoming Prime Minister negotiated a deal where he says there will be no border checks between UK ( mainland ) and UK ( Northern Ireland ) while his Brexit Secretary says there will be ,,, so leavers celebrating that we are leaving should actually be asking how we are leaving , and is that acceptable and is it what they voted for ,, I suspect alot are accepting it is leaving because the press are telling them so

I don't think it's a case they he's ignorant. It's more that he just doesn't give a fuck.

As long as brexit happens. His family will be fucking minted and won't have to pay tax. So why would he even pretend to give two shits about any of this?

. No , not really , I am a remainer and I am basically asking leavers what they mean by leaving , the example I gave being the prime minister who voted for brexit ,against a deal , against a deal , for a deal ,created his own deal which his brexit secretary agrees with but says is different from what the prime minister says it is .My suspicion, now, is that leavers are at the stage of accepting whatever they are told is brexit so they can claim "we got brexit done " ,,this became apparent as soon as we were told that no one wants a border on the island of Ireland , by the same people who were tellling us we want to control our borders ,,

Should we prepare to be flobbed on by you?

Or are you going to complain about people just making insults instead of actual points?

"Is it just me or havent you asked the same question too? It have now gone 3 years and I believe that the eu have actually given 2 dates before for them to leave, the reason I think it havent happened yet is co they like the drama and crisis it is causing both in the commons and media, they dont really want to leave "

Having friends working in both the European Commission and the Parliament (yes there is a difference) I can state categorically that the EU will always grant an extension to the Uk regarding the Brexit dilemma but their viewpoint on future trade negotiations and the ‘question of the Irish border’ has not changed one iota in the last three and half years.

For it to change, 27 countries would all have to agree.!

So, if we really do do-Brexit in one year, without a deal, then we really are in the shit!

"

And that's about five years worth of work they need to squeeze into 11 months.

So good luck with that."

Indeed.

Farage says he called off the dogs after Johnson promised to adhere to the Dec 31 date - deal or no deal.

His faith in Johnson's integrity is, um, er, admirable.

"Ignorance rules the waves. What worries me , is not the ignorance of posters on here ( people like me ) , , , but the ignorance of those at the very top of government, who called for and campaigned for brexit without really realizing what they were campaigning for or voting for ,,,,, the best example being the very top , ( The Prime Minister ) who voted for brexit then voted against his own parties deal , then voted against it again , then voted for it , then on becoming Prime Minister negotiated a deal where he says there will be no border checks between UK ( mainland ) and UK ( Northern Ireland ) while his Brexit Secretary says there will be ,,, so leavers celebrating that we are leaving should actually be asking how we are leaving , and is that acceptable and is it what they voted for ,, I suspect alot are accepting it is leaving because the press are telling them so "
