His track record is very poor, so it's less likely that he'll be a longer term success imo. Lies and bluster can carry you for a while but isn't a winner if people have chronic failures.

"Very simply at my best guess, yes.

Whilst the majority was big many of those seats were won on the brexit issue. Only 300k more people voted for Tories in 2019 than 2017. It's a majority that can easily be wiped out especially when traditional Labour voters from northern England return to their party. They will not all stick with the Tories so that majority will shrink.

For Labour to get a majority, they need to pick the right leader. Kier Starmer is apparently publics preferred choice so pick him the labour party are hearing in the right direction. RLB (corbyn mk 2) will get slaughtered as such by the press.

Boris Johnson's chances of a n election win are in the hands of Labours choice of leader.

I think Brexit will dominate the next election as much as it did this one, if the remainers turn out to be right and it does fuck the economy, the Tories will get wiped out by Labour for causing the mess regardless of who the Labour leader is or whether they stay hard left or come back to you centre.

If anyone brings Boris Johnson down, it will be Boris Johnson himself.

He has a reputation of being sloppy, careless, disorganised, lacking any strategy other than opportunism for Boris Johnson.

He appears to have a team around him so far that is setting an agenda.

Give it time, and a combination of complacency (on Johnson's part) and corruption (on the part of his subordinates) will expose a mess at the top.

To be accurate, so far his track record is the biggest election victory since 1979

He can easily stay in post, especially if Dominic Cummings can dismantle the institutions of democracy that provide checks and balances.

Independent judiciary

Unpoliticised civil service

Strong Parliamentary oversight

Independent press

All challenged, all to be attacked.

44% of voters signed a blank check to allow this.

Democracy is given away.

We have Turkey, Hungary and Poland to aim for as out future model

False.

80 seats is the largest majority since Labour in 2001 was returned with a 167-seat majority.

It's also only slightly bigger than the 78-seat majority that Cameron and Clegg governed with 2010-15.

Brexit is already a clusterfuck of a disaster. And people still voted for "get Brexit done". It didn't stop people voting Tory now, and it won't in five years time.

I don't have a clue how long to expect Boris's reign of terror to last. But if it's less than ten years, I would guess it's more likely that the Tories pick a new leader, than it is likely they lose a GE to Labour.

His track record from his actual jobs is rather different and has little for any close scrutiny to find much more than someone who's highly dubious.

propaganda? He is on record stating various unacceptable opinions and inappropriate comments. Want to remind me what he said about Liverpool, Muslims etc??

Of course, the propaganda campaign against corbyn was completely true. You have a Jewish friend who used to work for him.
