Following the post election hullabaloo, I have had a period of careful, sober reflection on the state of British politics today. I have come to the considered opinion, that in the national interest, Jeremy Corbyn should stay on as the leader of the opposition . Please reply here to sign my petition; Jezza must stay on!!

You think that it is the national interest to have an ineffective opposition?

Boris's family and his associates are set to make vast sums of cash if we leave and even more if we leave with a no deal Brexit.

I genuinely believe that he wants to and will push on with brexit.

He doesn't give a fuck about the legacy he leave behind.

I don't think he will cancel. He wants to run again by claiming he "delivered" Brexit. So we may well leave but maintain full alignment with EU regulations with no influence.

Alternatively no deal but massive government borrowing to subsidise our losses.

There was no plan, but apparently 43% of those who voted are happy with whatever we get.

So that's what we get. Democracy comes with its ups and downs

Taking the piss is neutral.

Shit stirring is more negative.

You have to admit that in general you offer no solutions, just bleak outcomes. That implies we are helpless. I don't think that's true.

Then you can do something.

My views are based on the information available. I haven't made predictions beyond what would seem reasonable based on that information. However, clearly information is no longer pertinent.

The country has has elected a liar. Not in the prevaricating sly political sense. An outright liar sacked from his job twice.

There are people who believe that the earth is flat.

There are people (mainly children) dying because their parents believe that vaccinations are a harmful conspiracy.

There are people who argue that man made climate change is not happening.

There are YouTube clips that appear sufficient to support these positions.

You are choosing to do nothing whilst criticising anybody who argues that we should try.

You do not think that you are being negative?

What have you ever stated that is positive? What can you or I do to make a positive difference to ourselves and others?

Yep. I pretty much gambled he would win comfortably as did most sane people . I bought a shed load of euros and dollars pre election and sold them post election. Paid for a few months in my fave long term let in Holetown in the new year. Pretty sure other smart investors made the same play . Cheers jezza lol

So you do give a shit about people other than your friends and family.

You would help a stranger.

You do want your taxes used to pay for drugs that will never help you or anyone that you know.

For education that you won't benefit from directly.

For roads that you will never drive along.

You will not resent contributing to things that strangers will benefit from.

Never claimed perfection. O will call anyone out on a I'll considered sweeping statement though.

Interesting that you have decided to bring an unrelated point into the discussion.

Why did you choose to do that?

Happily I've never had a gun pointed at me.

I have no idea how I'd react. I've not been trained to deal with a situation like that. It's quite out of the ordinary in this country.

How do you think that most people would react? Would they do something heroic? Be scared and freeze? Do whatever they're told to do? Be James Bond?

Perhaps you're just having a personal dig because you don't like me questioning your opinions?

"personaly i think one of two things are hona happen at end of jan we either leaving so one half of country will be pissed off or boris is gona pull it compleatly and piss the other half off.myself ive never belived boris wants to leave he has just used it to become p.m my money is pn him canceling and calling a 2nd ref

Boris's family and his associates are set to make vast sums of cash if we leave and even more if we leave with a no deal Brexit.

I genuinely believe that he wants to and will push on with brexit.

He doesn't give a fuck about the legacy he leave behind.

Yep. I pretty much gambled he would win comfortably as did most sane people . I bought a shed load of euros and dollars pre election and sold them post election. Paid for a few months in my fave long term let in Holetown in the new year. Pretty sure other smart investors made the same play . Cheers jezza lol"

So you bought lots of Euros at 1.16 and then sold them at 1.20....FOREX genius eh?

Forgive me for asking, and correct me if I'm wrong as im no expert, if you bought eu and dollars when the pound was weak before the election due to brexit uncertainty , then sold them when the pound was strong after the election i thought youd lose money

"Following the post election hullabaloo, I have had a period of careful, sober reflection on the state of British politics today. I have come to the considered opinion, that in the national interest, Jeremy Corbyn should stay on as the leader of the opposition . Please reply here to sign my petition; Jezza must stay on!!"

Central

There's every reason to have a party managed leadership change, rather than the immediate departure that potentially prevents lessons being learned. As the government are removing much parliamentary scrutiny of their activities, it's helpful to have experienced hands at play, to highlight what's going wrong. The opposition works for everyone, just as the government should.
