I think Brexit will happen, sadly. The Tories ran the election around Brexit and gained a clear majority. That implies they have to follow through with it and they have the numbers in parliament now.
So how and when will it happen? |

Well it kind of depends on the make up of Boris' MPs - particularly the new ones.
Prior to the election the parliamentary conservative party were about 70% pro EU - as they always have been - and those MPs weren't afraid to vote against their own government to block the deals that the government were putting on the table - and prevent them from going for no deal.
That number may have come down since the election to perhaps 50/50, but that's still enough to put the kybosh on some of the whackier plans that the nutty moonbat fringe might try to get through.
Really depends on whether they still have the balls to take Boris on or not - I suspect that with a comfortable GE win under their belts that they might be a little more pliant this time round.

Just seen on the BBC news that apparently more people voted for anti Brexit parties / 2nd referendum parties than for a actual Brexit party
No wonder leavers are so adamant to class this General election as a 2nd referendum because with the looks of it they'd be terrified over having a real 2nd referendum going by a vote for vote basis |

Well look at it from a Scotsman view going to be dragged out off something the majority didn't want to be taken out off , the only upside is we could be leaving the Uk and become a proper Country in our own right and i guess that would please a few English men/ woman , so over all if we get or independance its been a good election in my opinion . Cheers 4 ur Ears |

The new Mp's will definitely not be voting against Boris. Most of them come from leave areas.
Boris will work fast before Gina Miller and her friends try and delay the process. I believe we will have left the Eu on 31st Jan and I think it will be difficult to negotiate and get it sorted within a year.
So at least 2 years or possibly 3 years. |

Isn't the idea that if we don't get a FTA with the EU within 12 months we go WTO?
Things have changed so much over and over I've lost track and a bit of interest |

I’ve lost track too. But if I remember right (someone correct me if not) that the next deadline is Jan 31st by which time we need the withdrawal agreement all signed. Which means that Johnson has got to face up to the lies he has been telling about customs checks on the Irish border. I think if this is not actually agreed then the transition period doesn’t happen either.

Can you see any parallels? Well all the above quotes helped the biggest fraudster of all

Now Boris has to deliver all that he has promised! Strange how some here are saying years - Boris has 11 months to agree, implement a free trade deal, a feet that has never been achieved- the closest is the USA/Jordan - 5 months to agree but a further 12 months to implement, I watch on it's not over, it's just beginning, then there's trade deals with America, China, Japan, India and many more! How many negotiators are we going to need? Then there's all the regulatory bodies....... |

It will happen badly, in a shambles. And when, fuck knows, depends if the Tories continue to faff around voting down their own deal or not. |

That's all irrelevant now. Johnson has won a free and fair general election with a massive majority. We will be leaving the EU on 31st January 2020. The battle of Leave is over and we've lost. Hopefully Jonson, having got a massive majority, will now negotiate a good trade deal with the EU and not be ham tied by the ERG. There is no point trying to refight the lost battle, we have to look to the next, and that's the future trade deal. |

We'll either crash out, or spend the next 5 years bumbling a deal and the Tories/media still blaming Labour for it.
Frankly at this point, hoping for a crash out so this Brexit crap can be over and done with and we can see what state the country is in (with people blaming Labour of course). |

Oh I'm not trying to fight a lost battle, far from it, I've always supported the vote to leave on democratic grounds, it's the leavers reasons I challenge based on facts and common sense and their ongoing constant methods of trying to rewrite election results into vote results just on Brexit.
So if they want to be classing everything is based on Brexit then I can too and the electrote based on vote for vote for Brexit parties vs scrapping Brexit / 2nd referendum parties then the people voted in higher numbers against continuing with Brexit than to have Brexit. So using leavers methods of calculating support for Brexit shows leave voters are now the minority

They have follow through with it as you say because we told them we wanted to leave. It's not an option it's an obligation in a democracy. The majority say something, the government does it.
We leave in the 31st January 2020 or Boris is toast.

Yes it will be an interesting time! Strange how brexiteers were advocating an "instant" success on winning back in 2016, now we giving it 10 years! A lot can happen in 10 years, for example the UK national debt believe it or not was £0.95 trillion (2010) and today, with all that austerity, now stands at £2.3 trillion (2019)! Based on that we are looking at £3.5 trillion!
As you say the election was won emphatically by a bunch of liars, and were voted in, and so now let's see them turn the lies into facts! 2024 will be interesting, but as far as we know it was fought fairly, but just remember back in 1930 when the Germans voted Hitler into power they were euphoric, but 9 years later they weren't so pleased! |

Way back in December 2013, the UK agreed and signed up to the EU’s “Multiannual Financial Framework” (budget) for for the period 1 January 2014 to 31 December 2020.
The UK was ALWAYS going to meet its obligations and continue to pay its contributions right to the end, even if Theresa May had managed to force through a BREXIT before then. Contracts and projects (even those in the UK, local to me is an EU funded peatland restoration scheme) had to run their course, although the Red Top newspapers made a big thing out of it by calling a lump sum to cover our share of these projects a “divorce bill”.
Boris Johnson’s revised text (there was a joke in the European Commission that it took the representatives of 27 Member States only 40 minutes to sign it, and 35 minutes of that was spent laughing) has a flexible withdrawal date - which will allow him tell everybody that we’ve officially and finally left the EU - but includes a transition period during which we continue to pay our agreed contibutions and all on-going projects are completed. And guess when the transition period ends? Yup, 31 December 2020. Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose.
The EU’s MFF for the period 1 January 2021 to 31 December 2027 is much reduced of course, but it’s not a case of “they need us more than we need them, what will they do without our money”, simply “there’s less money in the pot so our plans and projects will be less ambitious”.
So expect a dramatic “official” withdrawal date pretty soon so BJ can get HIS name in the history books rather than TM’s, but the long-term effects for you and I will be… well, long term. |

Extend the transition agreement and keep negotiating.
EFTA option where we keep very similar EU free trade but pay and have no say in making regulations and have limited options to negotiate other deals.
Limited trade in certain areas with similar inability to set rules but not see the death of significant industries.
Hard Brexit to WTO terms of trade, only the WTO arbitration system is not functioning and we are already in arbitration over several matters.
All this in the teeth of the upcoming global downturn.
As a bonus the UK has now begin the process of splitting up and central government is too stupid to implement a federal system whilst it still can. |

The EFTA isn't an option for the UK under Tories, as it'd require still having freedom of movement ect with EU countries, still paying into the EU aswell as paying tariffs on alot of exports, look at how it works for Norway. The more likely scenario would be along similar lines to the Canadian trade agreement with the EU. |

Johnson (or rather Cummings) can do as he wishes.
What is a "Canada" deal? It's the limited industries one that I outlined.
Services will be excluded. As a country services are what we do. |

I think the first test will be if BJ agrees to keep worker's right aligned to or better than the EU's during negotiations. This could indicate whether he is going to look after his new working class voters or if it's full steam ahead for Britannia unchained. |

It matters very much how it's done.

No wonder leavers are so adamant to class this General election as a 2nd referendum because with the looks of it they'd be terrified over having a real 2nd referendum going by a vote for vote basis
Doesn’t matter now. It’s done. Unless you want a civil war? Leave won, and we are more divided as ever.
Why is the country being divided a problem? Genuine question.
Compared to Brexit it seems issues like the break up of the UK, a divided society are all small fry in comparison..
Why is the break up of a four country Union such a big deal if that's what the majority of it's citizens want?.
I'm asking why the break up is a big deal. You just asked my question back to me.
If there has one thing we've learned over the past four years, is that people don't know what they want, and continually vote themselves into poverty and into a shittier position in life..
Tell that to the Hong Kongers "
Random, unrelated and pointless.

Tiny little island with no trade deals with the rest of the world, stuck out in the middle of know where, right next door to largest trade block in the world which it has great trade with and wants to be independent from and risk all that?.
I'd say it was pertinent
