It makes some scary reading, from the "updating" of human rights to the removal of court powers over the government and the changing of parliamentary boundaries to alter marginal tory seats into safe seats.

Those who want to have a tory brexit really don’t give a toss about anything else. When their freedoms and living standard drop, not because of brexit, but massive under investment after brexit, I’ll say you could have stopped the shit brexit deal.

You might find that many labour voters haven't read the labour manifesto. Probably because Google put the fake website ahead of the bona fide one.

How low can a party sink? Every time I think we hit rock bottom they find new lows.

Boundary changes are overdue they should have happened years ago,and they are decided by a separate body.At present Labour has a natural built in majority put in place by Blair but have not helped lol

An independent judiciary just gets in the way of "getting things done", as does a free press and an upper house that doesn't depend on re-election and a non-politicised civil service.

Tear it all down. Then just work it out as you go along using Russia and Turkey and Poland and Hungary and Zimbabwe as exemplars.

Yes. It was a warning against communism because communism was the threat of the time. Corbyn is a socialist not a communist. What I get from the story is that thinking for yourself is more important than believing propaganda.

He also wrote 1984 which is chillingly accurate in its predictions under state rule. The slogan then was big brother is watching you. In our reality we know big brother is watching us so the slogan is We'll get Brexit Done. The name for this is double speak.

Some extremists in the Conservative Party want to remove the UK from the European Convention of Human Rights.

I suppose we should be relieved it's not their policy (for now).

The UK Human Rights Act simply converts the ECHR into UK law, so allowing UK citizens to seek remedy in UK courts rather than going straight to the European Court of Human Rights.

Any updating of the UK Act will need to be consistent with the UK's treaty obligations under the ECHR.

I can foresee a scenario, however, where the changes made by the Tories are overturned on appeal by the European Court as being inconsistent with the ECHR, resulting in pressure to pull the UK out of the treaty altogether.

Some people just dont get it! If you’re jolly idiot gets in then it will be the end of the welfare state because thats what the Tory version of capitalism does - run a national business with assets down until it can be sold off to the highest bidder at rock bottom prices (generally to a friend of theirs) rather than investing in the future - short term profiteering. So go back to your Wolfie Smith tropes - he might have been a wally but at least he was likeable.

The Tories do what they always do with public services - privatise the profit and nationalise the risk.

Hmm the basic principles of communism and socialism, as you know are the same, however . Socialism is the imposition of theses through the democratic system and communism is the imposition of theses through full out rebellion with some comrades temporarily controlling the system until all is equalled out. However equally applied is the factual history of an elite retaining control, in China and Russia.

So communism is abhorrent, yeah?

To people on the right.

Scrape the gloss from the Tory manifesto and you'll discover the parts that need communism.

Like decarbonising energy.

The Tories are quite happy to let a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Communist Party of China to build and operate nuclear power plants.

Communism. Can't be all bad, eh?

People will soon find out if he gets in and we leave the EU especially in the north, There was a huge amount money spent in the north with the help of the EU, (Yes I know its our money so to speak) But the Tories never invested in the north and Labour hardly done anything either, Probably the only reason I'd vote to stay in the EU, Both parties are full of shit

Yes, that is so true.

Public spending by UK is driven by party interest, whereas EU spending was driven by need.

Areas whose GDP was below 75% of the EU average qualified for assistance under the EDRF programme.

50% from the EU and 50% from home authority for infrastructure.

So areas like Cornwall, Merseyside, Wales and Highlands & Islands got 100s of millions in investment in infrastructure.

We could do with a rule like that in Brekshit-land - spending based on need rather than party interest.

The EU isn't all bad.

Yes, there's many things I dislike about the EU but the benefits it brings to UK PLC outweighs the negatives.

Anyway I'm sure our next government will continue the trend of additional funding to the sort of areas that currently benefit from the EU funds.

No, socialism and communism are really not the same except for how they are "imposed".

Still, I only asked for five Communist policies. Any luck with that?

Neither Russia or China were ultimately Communist. They were totalitarian states just like any absolute monarchy or fascist dictatorship. Command economies with state ownership of property rather than nominally private but at the whim of an individual.

Authoritainism.

The antithesis of libertarian Conservatism.

Johnson has purged the libertarians.

And installed the authoritarians in power.

The worst example is Patel.

Who would concentrate power in the state rather than the individual.

Despicable.

Corbyn definitely anti-Israel. I can't really see where he has been anti-Semitic. The party has done a good job of stamping on the few who do exist in the country and the press have kept it alive.

Tories have just as big a problem with Islamaphobia but as Muslims don't tend to vote for them they don't care.

Your decision making processes are interesting to say the least when you make assertions with complete confidence but don't seem to be able back them up except silently in your own head.

However, at least you are engaged in some way. I guess you'll do what you think is right even though I can't understand the route that you're taking

I guess you'll do what you think is right even though I can't understand the route that you're taking "

Irritating for you when someone won’t do things your way or answer your demands? We are all different, and it would appear we are all able to read the same data and in your case it seems read what you want it to say. I have tried to make comments without personally criticising any of you. Shame that your debate technique is to repeat and be nasty in order to rattle the other debater! As all you want to do is deny what doesn’t suit and send comments implying that just because it’s not your method then it’s wrong, I really do have better things to do with my life. Obviously further comments after this and my previous one, pointing out that I’m not a signed up member of your sworn enemy it review data my way not yours, won’t change anything until you have shouted again and have the last post to feel all smug in getting the last post etc.

So as it means so much to you, off you go pop your last little blurb down and feel better. I really do wish more ppl would vote and even better the voting system should have a box to select , None of the above. For when ppl like me feel that none of the above politicians have the answers so that we can tell them! However I do feel that your ideal is one box and you can vote so long as it’s your choice! Have a good life and live well .

"It makes some scary reading, from the "updating" of human rights to the removal of court powers over the government and the changing of parliamentary boundaries to alter marginal tory seats into safe seats.

It sounds like something George Orwell would write. Good times!

Wasn’t he the chap who wrote Animal farm? Where all animals are equal, but some are more equal than others! As a simplified explanation of how communism ends up? Aka Corbyn’s momentum?

Corbyn is definitely communist in all but name comrade! even has a little red book on him, like Wolfe Smith of the Tooting Popular Front! Lol Watch out or he’ll put you on his list .....come the revolution ! Pmsl

I'm not voting for him, but I'm interested to know which of his policies is "definitely Communist".

Could you list five?

What's your view on the Conservative manifesto page 48?

Hmm the basic principles of communism and socialism, as you know are the same, however . Socialism is the imposition of theses through the democratic system and communism is the imposition of theses through full out rebellion with some comrades temporarily controlling the system until all is equalled out. However equally applied is the factual history of an elite retaining control, in China and Russia.

After you've proved them wrong they will shake their heads and say "Corbyn is still a communist though"

Proved wrong? Or just shouted down ? Lol Stalin type bully tactics? I mean Stalin’s communist regime actually killed more than the fascist nazi regime! But hey lol

If you actually read Google’s available sources then the ethics of application is correct. The main other difference is that communism is basically all efforts for all where as socialism is more reward for efforts f the individual.....

How ever to the one person demanding five examples etc etc ..... boring but how does he explain away peoples links to terrorists and racist, or anti Semite acts? I mean if 70 plus members of an organisation are ready to come forward that’s one heck of a lot of smoke to waft away ! Hmm fire or just here-say or clown comments ?

And for those taking comments on here way too serious , before you accuse others of supporting one person or claiming other such childish actions reference clowns or fascists etc etc. Let me reassure you not all of us out here vote for a party out of blind loyalty cos previous generations did. Some of us way up the facts relevant at each election, based upon the local candidate first, policies, second and more importantly related to current issues and concerns. In my many years as a voter I am happy to say I have voted for at least five different parties ! Swayed by reason and personality! Not blind blue red green yellow etc etc

On the big day I welcome the right of all to vote as they see fit ! I would however ask everyone to research think decide. Not be brow beaten by others. The only person to know how you voted is you!

Still no idea what Communism is so still no examples.

Just five. Go on. You can manage five Communist policies from Labour surely?

Not pointed at you directly but I don't see anything nasty about asking anyone provide some evidence that Corbyn and Labour are communists after they've made that assertion...

Right wing media headlines don't count, although I suspect that's the source of many people's beliefs on the issue.

I am laying out statements of fact. Not being nasty. I have not shouted. I have not denied anything.I have asked you to back up your point but you have seemed unable or unwilling to do so for some reason.

Nothing, absolutely nothing, that you have written indicates that any Labour policies are Communist.

I really do not understand how you make your decisions if you assert something without having any information to come to that conclusion with.

I am pleased that you are at least engaged and I do believe that you will do what you believe to be right.

Just for the record there was a big typo in my last post with reference to anti-Semitism. I should have written:

"The [Labour] party has NOT done a good job of stamping on the few who do exist..."

We are not blessed with the policies or leaders that we need, but perhaps we have the ones we deserve

If your starting premise is comparing Corbyn to Stalin and then you cannot actually provide any response to a request for examples then you are my friend voicing an opinion only and a wrong one at that. It would be tempting to go through a comparison with the labour parties current manifesto and Clement Attlee's post war one to demonstrate how far from communist the present one is but that might be lost on you. Lazy thinking my friend lazy thinking....

You misunderstand the contemporary usage of the word communist.

It means "someone I don't like but it's a scary term so the discussion ends here"

Same goes for the word Marxist, and on the flip side in certain cases the words racist and fascist.

They are terms used by Social Justice Warriors - on both the left and the right (yes there are just as many right wing SJWs as left) to convey an emotional response and as a way to shut down discussion - not to begin one.

And it's pointless to ask someone to give a factual response to an emotional response.

An emotional response is fine as long as it's not then dressed up as a logical one.

However men in particular don't like to seem emotional so have to generate some reasoning that usually falls over instantly but must be defended
